Stick to your own set of irons if it is serving you well. Changing of equipment is wasting your money. Spend on some golf lessons instead. You will enjoy your game more at the end of the day!

I've had rust before on my clubs and used autosol to polish it off, then I apply some wd40 on it hoping that some of it will impregnate the metal and repel further moisture. There might be some discoloration for awhile and highly polished spots, but this fades with time so the entire look is almost uniform. Anyway, it's metal, so no need to worry about being too delicate with the club.

Did the WD40 do the trick, Birdman? I haven't yet seen rust on my clubs ('cept for my Vintage Cally wedge which is intended) but would like to keep my babies shiny Smile

Allow mw to share my experience from cast to forged

i was using cast irons for almost 2 years till a few months back i changed to MX23 graphite forged.

Struggled for 3 months to accustom to a new swing to adapt to the forged irons. you will really need to be stronger to hit the forged and also need to have a decent swing. i also took up lessons again to fine tune my swing.

5 months later, i got back my usual distance on the graphite forged and now i am using PX 5.0 forged irons. still training to get more strength.

So if you wanna changed to forged only after 11 months, you mus be prepared to commit time to train and patience to adapt.

my 2 cents worth.

Andrew

Thanks for the tip, Andrew. Oftentimes, people think it's an automatic swap and getting used to playing forged irons is a breeze. It may be to some but to others, it's not always as easy especially if you move from cavity backed irons to forged blades.

Question is, will these irons be too difficult for me?

I want to improve myself further and my current set is a tad too forgiving (and of cos dont sound really nice since its cast) so much so that sometimes I dont give full focus on the ball, and result in a lesser hit. It may seem like a lame excuse to change set which in fact it is, cos I just like the looks and sound of the Mizuno irons (yes, Im a shallow guy).

Just checked Golf House today in case anyone is interested:
MP 52 PX5.5 ~$1500
MP 52 DG300 ~$1400

MP 58 NS950 ~$1450
MP 58 DG300 ~$1360

Any advice?

my honest opinion is

'work on ur swing' for the time being...

getting a forged iron will not improved ur current situation.

MP58? or MP68? I own the MP37 which looks more like 68 (blade design), but thought of switching to muscle back ..... yet a little reluctant to give up my MP37 ..... hmmmm, any advice?

I may consider custom-fitted set as well, if I try and feel good for it. Are you selling?

Hi I just bought a MP58 DG R from my friend for SIN$1K. From 3-P irons, not sure if this is a good deal though. I hit it at OCC, and really love it due to the design and damn shiok as it is forged. However, I previously owned a PRGR GN502 irons, I personally felt PRGR irons gave me longer carry though I am a lousy golfer Wink .

Hi yapeeguy

I'd previously owned the MP 52 and now play with the GN502 Forged. I'd to found that the PRGR is giving me longer carry as well as more shiok feeling than my MP.. of course tt does not in any way take anythg away from mizuno clubs.. until the prgr came along, the mizunos were the 'best' set of irons I'd previously own, imo, that is.

Cheers

I absolutely agree with you. Unfortunately, my friend likes it so much so I sold mine to him (backside itchy Mad )

Haha

Hope u sold it to your friend at a price higher than what u'd paid for your MP58... otherwise, ouch! Esp if you had bought the PRGR first-hand...

Good luck with your use of the MP/

Hi, am new to forum. Just to share, I switched to MP52 with PX 5.5 a few months back. Still getting used to the clubs... was a bit of a step up for me I think coming from previous MX-25 with NS Pro.

Initially struggled a bit, more becos of the shaft, but got the hang of it after a few rounds.
MP52 less forgiving then the MX-25, but when cleanly struck, the firm but buttery feel is awesome.

Totally agree with you twitzer... for the mp52, I realised that one got to hit precise, then can get that buttery feel. Not really forgiving in that sense of the word.

Bros, im now using bridgestone j36 with px flighted 5.0. The irons and shaft are awesome. Really love it a lot. Tried 1 of my friend mp52 on the course, wah! so stim. The sound of impact and feel make me come. Underwear all wet with sperm that day. He's mp 52 fitted with nspro 950 stiff regular. So light and easy to launch the ball. Distance wise is the same as my j36. Thought of getting it as my j36 is my first king and mp52 as my second king. Should i buy or not the mp52?

Bro helmeahmad... You are a real kinky guy. With j36 as 1st wife and mp52 as 2nd, you'll steam steam all day!!

Anyway, being a mp52 user myself, I could testify that this set of irons, although not the most forgiving, gives a solid and buttery impact when hit well. Highly recommended!
