Mizuno Owners Thread - Soft and Buttery

Hi all,

As a beginner, recently bought a second hand jpx825 pro, feels better compared to my previous set (acers) which was given by my friends. brought this for my recent phuket golf trip, had to say my iron shots and distance seem more consistent for P, 9, 8, 7, 6.  Still trying to master the 5 and 4.

Any idea when jpx 850 n 850 forged will be available locally?

I used to have a JPX 800 Forged, and it is a very good iron for me.

Anyone using the Mizuno Elf Ladies's set and the Mizuno Izod Plus Men's set? Can give some comments?

I'm currently on the Mizuno MP-H4s, with Project x 5.5 steel shaft. Definitely a great set of clubs but the longer irons can feel a little hollow. Anyone else using similar clubs has any comments on the feel of the longer irons? Thanks

Anyone knows anything abt the Mizuno JPX 800 AD Forged? How different are they from the JPX 800 Pro, and will there be that legendary buttery feeling? Deciding whether to get my hands on one!

Advice please brothers and sisters!!!

I used to have the MP53, now I have combo MP15+JPX850 forged (long irons). Everything feels soft if you hit it in the middle.

anyone here done fitting for Mizuno irons when purchased?
only place i know that does "fitting" when buying Mizuno irons is Golf House....

I got my Mp 69 stock but got fitted to Steelfiber i95's at BFG and they are now the best irons I've ever hit!

Surprisingly forgiving for blades and the steelfibers have added another 5 metres to my irons.

Definitely not going to change out of these for a looming time.... :-)

@sinis - JPX 800 AD forged is a japanese market iron set (more forgiving thicker sole), JPX 800 Pro is the rest of the world - both are forged and thus butter feel. if you wish to get the AD version - either you get it from Japan or in Hongkong as my distributor carries it. however if you wish to go into the JPX series, i highly suggest you go through a fitting process for a suitable shaft recommendation.

Hi Darryl. I had previously given feedback to Golf House but I'm not too sure if they ever did relay the feedback over to Mizuno.
I had intended to purchase the JPX850 forged or the MP4 with the KBS C Tapers since that was a shaft I had been fitted to, but Golf House/RSH told me that custom orders with Mizuno were not really possible, and if I insisted it would be very expensive. 
Mizuno has always been known to encourage custom fitting, and that seems to be the case for MizunoUSA and MizunoEurope where custom orders can be easily made much like how Titleist/Acushnet is doing very well in Singapore. 
Just food for thought maybe  would love to see Mizuno Singapore get more competitive with Titleist in terms of this.

Yes I thought paying the full retail price on top of the upcharge was just ridiculous. That's certainly not how Mizuno USA and Mizuno Golf Europe manage the brand. So I'm not sure if the situation here in Singapore is a consistent or effective way of managing the brand; to promote custom fitting and yet remove all discounts, charge full retail and then apply an upcharge. Just doesn't make sense to me and perhaps another reason why Titleist and other brands have more brand recognition.

@ Darryl - No problem, hope you like your new shafts.

@happydingle - will update on golf republic once RSH sets the date, last one was held last month at NSRCC, but now their driving range is undergoing some renovation so we are trying to get another location.

@hitsoft - thank you for your feedback -  KBS C Tapers must be ordered from Japan - what you get is JDM quality, just an option I will recommend the to buy the cheapest off the rack and reshaft it - although it might cost much more due to the cost of the quality aftermarket shafts. just a reference, with KBS C taper - new shafts and grips will cost you about 100 per piece, so a whole set will be about 700 more. 

Thing about Mizuno Singapore is that the rate set is dependent on the distributor, we are in the talks about this with RSH, thanks to your quality feedback.

@mizunoshen - Are there be any left handed golf clubs on offer at the Muzuno Golf House sale and to be fitted with?  I am interested in the JPX-850 forged irons.

@mizunoshen I had brought out this issue before I got my set of irons. The so-called fitting at GH is not ideal to say the least. Only allowing the standard shafts and alternating between regular and stiff is not fitting. It's more like shoehorning us in what GH wants rather than what is good for us. I would rather get hold of the heads I like and then do the shafts I want on my own rather than paying a premium for this in GH. 

Mizuno might be a top brand but doing this in such a competitive market like Singapore will not be feasible when there are so many options available.

Mizuno lost me as a customer and moving forward it will probably lose my son as a customer as well(he's playing JPX800 forged and is due for a change).

I dont suppose Golf House sells just the Mizuno heads?
