It's like when Nike signed Michael Jordan up from Converse I think back in early 90's then Tiger and now Rory!! I'm not surprise at all. They are really willing to pay.

Nothing will be official before 31 December 2012 . But there is plenty of rumor concerning where he will sign such as callaway 700 Million/ 5 years , Nike 500M Million / 10 Years. Taylormade . The Most Probable will be Nike especially with the link with Tiger Woods recently.


The Only think is he is still in contract with Oakley as he only resign last year so i wonder the deal he will do with the company as Nike or Taylormade like to have their athlete wear their clothes and glasses !

Callaway 700 million/5 years ???
I think rumors for Nike is 250 million/10 years not 500million bro.

I read on golfwrx yesterday that the 700 million yen signing is for Ryo Ishikawa, so with that much money spent on Ryo, I do not think Callaway will have that much money left over.

i think it has been confirmed that rory is going to nike. 200-250 million for 10 years.

Report: McIlroy, Nike reach deal, shoot commercials

Rory McIlroy has completed a deal that makes him Nike’s biggest new star, FoxSports.com reported Friday.

McIlroy’s new deal is estimated to be worth at least $200 million, and possibly as much as $250 million, over 10 years, according to the report.

The news comes after Titleist and McIlroy announced earlier this week that the world's No. 1 ranked golfer would not renew a deal. FoxSports.com also is reporting that McIlroy has already filmed his first Nike television commercial, which Nike plans to air next year. The commercial also will feature Tiger Woods, who appears to have helped in the recruiting of McIlroy to Nike.

The commercial will feature McIlroy and Woods “bantering” and “marveling” while hitting Nike’s new red driver, according to the report. Nick Watney and Kyle Stanley are also reported to be in the commercial.

Neither Nike or McIlroy’s representatives have yet confirmed the deal. Nike representatives have repeatedly told GolfChannel.com that they will not comment on speculation.

The endorsement contract can be drafted such that the golfer can wear certain apparels and use certain clubs other than those he primarily endorsed for ... For instance, Luke Donald primarily endorses Mizuno but he uses TM driver and another putter brand ... and he endorses RL apparenls. Ian Poutler primarily endorses Cobra/Puma clubs/shoes but he uses another brand of putter (in the past was Rife).

Initially when Tiger signed on to Nike, he was still using Scotty putter and Titty wedges ... He took a longer time to switch the Hand-made USD20-30k Scotty putter to Nike Method. I believe Rolly will stick to Titty Putter and Wedges if he signed on to Nike till he is comfy to switch to 100% Nike tools ... These two clubs as far as I learned may take time to adjust for golfers playing at their level ...

Two weeks after the golf world wondered aloud whether Rory McIlroy would join Nike for the upcoming season for an eye-popping $200 million-plus, it appears we have our answer, after Fox Sports' Robert Lusetich reported that the No. 1-ranked player in the world will be Swooshing with Tiger Woods in a deal that's worth "at least" $200 million.

While Nike officials wouldn't confirm the report -- and honestly, why would they at this point -- McIlroy has, according to FoxSports.com, already filmed his first Nike commercial with Woods and new signees Kyle Stanley and Nick Watney.

McIlroy now becomes Nike's highest-paid golfer and the face of the company. Sure, Tiger Woods is still the highest profile name on the staff, but at this point, Nike's clearly looking towards the future. The decision to also add Stanley and Watney to the stable -- they, like McIlroy, were also with Titleist last year -- proves the Swoosh means business.

With McIlroy leaving Titleist just a year after he made over $8 million and won his second major, there will likely be plenty of people who question the decision to walk away from what he's known for years for an incredible payday and equipment uncertainty.

But here's the deal: No one in their right mind would pass on $200 million, even if it meant switching to new clubs, balls, etc. McIlroy was always going to be the big story going into 2013 based on the way he finished the season. However, the decision to switch to Nike will no doubt put him under an even bigger microscope.

Wahh ... It looks like Nike Golf is taking the golfing world by storm ... With all the mega stars like Rory, Tiger, Ryo, etc. under their stable ... Congrats to Nike but bad news for Nike die-hard consumers like us ... I guess customers may have to pay alot more for Nike clubs, apparels, shoes, etc. in the near future ...
