Answer to Pak slicer. I am basically a fast player and I hate slow play. Basically most of my games finish in 4.5 hours or less.

Cool but my question was. Can you still perform as per normal when you need to wait so long before taking the next swing ?

Me alway play 2 ball at Porfesia on week days, the best b'cos no one infront and
we can play fast and go home early!

We tee off 12pm and finished 18 hole by 220pm, return home via 2nd link very fast
half hour reach SG side.

Nowadays can't play on Saturday anymore a little too crowded for us, can't wait too
long sure to lost momentum!

Can't imagine playing 18 holes for more than 5 hours!

When I was based in Philippines some years back, my kakis and I were members of Riveira Country Club. Generally had a good time there despite the regular Taiwanese and Korean golf tourists who seemed to bet house, lot and wife on every putt.

But one day, we teed off at about 10am on a fine weekday, thought that it was going to be a great day for golf as there were hardly any other golfers around, but when we reached the 6th hole, we discovered that there was a bunch of Filipinos in front of us and there were 6 players in that flight accompanied by what looks like a dozen caddies (all pretty ones, I might add) and maybe 8 to 10 accompanying non-players.

we were wondering 'wtf' and called the Marshal. He came and in very discreet language advised us to be very patient and suggested playing at the other course (Riviera has 2 18s). Seems that one of the players in front was ex-President Fidel Ramos plus a couple of big shots.

We discussed amongst ourselves and decided to follow them and continue our game.

What we did was to hit 5 or 6 actual practice shots on every approach to the green or tee off 6 or 7 shots on every hole. It was a long 7 hours game but the wonderful thing was that the next game we played 2 days later, all of us improved our avaerage by at least 10 strokes due to the practice under actual conditions. Sadly the good score did not last.

and Riveria is not an easy course to play too...

Yeah. I generally rate most of the Philippines courses as between 30-40% tougher than most courses in Singapore, Malaysia or Thailand.
At Langer in Riviera, if you can consistently maintain your score below 95, you are doing damn well!

my longest game took around 6 hours. but was rain delayed 2 times.

nevertheless we still enjoyed ourselves pretty much . =)

My longest is about 7 hours as well. It was in one of the public course in Bangkok. Thankfully weather was good and also the booze that kept us going.
