| It will be good that the committee members of NSRCC are here and reading this thread
I'm sure they are aware of these challenges in a club of more than 10,000 members and I don't think this is the first case.
I am happy NSRCC took my complaint seriously and that the matter was investigated within 2 days.
Justice was served and the right and appropriate punishment is meted.
I don't think he deserved to be suspended. But he needed to be taught a lesson
We have became an almost arrogant society and getting less tolerant . Yet there are many cultured people and golfers around
I do meet a lot of nice members who smile and thank profusely when I hold the door to the locker room for them. There are also those few that think I owe them. In any case. I choose to remember the nice ones
Cheers | |

Actually, I think the main thing is not whether you shouted 'FORE' or 'BALL'. If you shouted the opposite party cannot heard just go over and apologize, not to act like some big shots and still insist he/she did nothing wrong.

Cheers Well say indeed. We wanted to shelter our kids and try to show them the best, to be honest and good manner. Unfortunately, in this real world. it is not fairy tale story and I hope my kids learned that too. I will never try to "play god" and show other how a consideration and good manner guy I am. Always treat everyone with respect, disregard whether they are young, old, poor, rich, stupid or smart. Do what to other, on what they do to you. That's my way of life and one do not need to agree with it.

I guess what up set me after hearing this was, that guy did not even bother to apologize. We all made mistakes in life but at least acknowledge it and learn to say " I am sorry "
I understand how Andrew felt at that moment. It will be worse for me Something came to my mind. Actually, I had been thinking. When you hear "Fore!!" , is there time for anyone to react? Honestly, for me, I will like "huh? simi daiji?" or "where?" Maybe by that time, u all can say "sayonara, sista!"

NSRCC will be sending this golfer a warning letter to advise him to practice safety, failing which will result in a suspension.
andrew-golf, Thank you very much for taking the time to lodge this complaint. You have made playing golf a little safer for all of us out there! I appreciate! Because of you, from now on, instead of walking away or ignoring dangerous play, I will follow your footsteps to do my part to keep golf safe and enjoyable for everyone!

I will just knee down and cover my hand over my head might be the best option in that speed of second. Do need to be careful when on the course.

| Hi guys,
I'm totally agreed that warning by shouting fore / ball is a must for any stray shot.
Personally, I've witnessed an incident when my flight's mate tee-off and the ball sliced and borrowed fairway of another hole. He have immediately shouted "ball" to warn the opposite flight of the situation.
When we drove to the ball, we were met by the golfers of the other hole. Without any further apologies from my friend which he intended to, we were greeted by all the foul languages ! We were shocked and lost of words. Before we can say anything, they drove off continuing with their game leaving us looking at each other.
All I'm trying to say is that it takes two hands to clap. Nobody wants to tee-off or played a shot with the intention of straying it or worst, hitting anyone.
I hope this will be the last time we see such incident, whether it is us hitting a stray shot / them shouting foul languages at us. From then on, needless to say of I'm the one; I will take it as a task to help by shouting "fore" / "ball" whenever my flight's mate hitting a stray shot off our fairway.
I've also heard of golfers resolving to lying their hands on each other because of ball landing too near to them / slow-play which resulted in impatient golfer playing off without waiting for the front to clear a safe distance. That's another story.
Golf should be played in a gentlemen way. Any unhappiness should be resolved in the proper ways or just complain to the club; not foul languages or even worst fighting.

| why is it that a slice/shank more likely created these dangerous situations? at least thats what I observe more golfers slice right? and yet the right side usually is another fairway maybe the course need to be designed to point towards left more take for example MBGC and OCC MBGC: on the left, mostly the course boundaries, on the right is usually another fairway OCC Dendro: on the left is woods or water, on the right is another fairway OCC Aranda: side by side hole 3-4 are usual danger territory for big slicers. but the direction of play matters. Had we play these holes the other way around, a slice would be less dangerous. | |

| Bro, I think it is more on the golf designer. Most beginner golfers tend to sliced more. I think most friendly course design have less OB or wood on the right side and more borrow another fairway at all possible (at least the slicer still can find his ball)
Good and bad .. Too touch a course might not generate enough business from most av. golfers.
... Just my 2 cts | |
