Anyone played Starhill recently?

Hi,

anyone played Starhill recently? able to share your experience on the current condition?

The last time I played there was more than a year back and the greens were in horrible conditions, totally un-puttable as the grass were dead / dried.

Appreciate your sharing as one of my kakis is keen to play there. Tks.

camping here for a review as i too miss this course..

Played there at the bukit (buggy) course about a month back. Very badly maintained course. The fairways were not trimmed properly so its more like a light rough and the greens are horrible as well. Only enjoyed the chendol at the clubhouse after the game. If I ever go back there it will be more for the chendol then anything else.

Any reviews about the bintang (walking) course?

I often play there..
Both courses condition r still as per wat u guys mentioned..

We are actually looking for courses near the Causeway (Woodlands) for quick game. Any other recommendations of good courses in the area? (except Ponderosa / Austin Hills)

Horizon Hills. Abit expensive but the course is in a good condition. Enjoyed playing there every time.

Ponderosa n horizon hill condition r good..
Ponderosa nearer to causeway..
It is a simple course whereas horizon is more excitin as it is more challengin..

Why not Ponderosa? I think its a decent course and near the causeway too.

Played last week walking course , tee box full of sands , fairway grass badly maintained ,l just by walking, both leg is dirty like hell after 3rd hole zzzz

Why not Ponderosa? I think its a decent course and near the causeway too.

Well, have been playing there for a few time. its one of the more popular courses and has encountered a few times always had to wait due to slow play from front flights.

IRCC, was paying about RM$140+ for ponderosa. How much is Horizon hills? travelling time from Causeway?

Horizon hills is $160+ for weekdays.
It is near Jusco at Bukit Indah. Around 15mins from the causeway.

Sorry. not really familiar with the route Horizon hills. Your 15mins is from First (woodlands) or Second link (Tuas). From the map, it seems that its located in Nusajaya vicinity but closer to 2nd link.

if you go by causeway, just go toward Nusajaya when u come out from custom, follow that direction u'll see horizon hills sign.

PS: GPS does not show as it's a relatively new road.

Great course. But beware of the green.....very firm and lightning fast.

It's one the best course in JB IMO. The European and Asian Tour sanctioned Iskandar Johor Open was played there if I'm not wrong. Definitely worth playing there.

It's still there, coming soon I think in Dec? But hor, JB course the drainage still not as good as Singapore one.

Played there just a few days back.....the course was rather nice and played.
Can't really say taht about the greens but it's not like there are lots of sandy patches
according to the care taker they weeded the greens of pest that why the condition.
they should be much better in a couple of month though.

Starhill is a relatively good course in JB. Its rainy season now, so don't expect too good condition of the courses in JB.

Starhill Bukit (buggy) and Bintan (walking) courses are relatively decent courses by JB standard. Bukit condition is better than Bintan. Perhaps too many people prefer walking course to buggy ... I myself prefer walking course. I feel more like a PRO in that way!
