Saw a black snake @ NSRCC Navy Course Hole 5/6 (par 5) near green. Just thought many golfers would search their ball near the lake if not landing on the green, BEWARE. I had a bad experience after encounter a black cobra being washed down from Teloh Blangah Hill after rain - my child was nearby the cobra when it was found near the playground... the thought of it makes me feel blessed to still have her with me. Anyway, just beware of snake when playing golf. a stroke wouldn't let u go that far unless u r going for the magic number "59". we can just live to play another day guys

About 4 years back between airforce hole 4 and 5 encountered one baby black cobra, all reared up, a couple of feet from the buggy track.

after that incident , i dont go looking for balls near the conservation or lush vegetation areas.

the marshals and bag boys are aware of snakes on the course.

I think they are snakes in every golf course as long as there are vegetation and plenty of sand and stones.

Last Sat (15 Sep'12) while playing at Legends we saw a 3' long Black Cobra, but it is just as poisonous even though it is small.

Just had a game at the Executive course at Nsrcc yesterday around 4pm. I was going to tee off at the first hole and saw a shiny black stick on the tee-off area. On closer look, I realised it's a black snake with yellow band around its neck area. It's about 8 inch in length and so thought is just a ordinary snake and was going after it to take a picture and then its flare up its side flap at the neck and then realised its a baby cobra. Its slither off into the bushes behind the shed at the gate. Be careful if you played around the area and if there is a baby cobra around then its mother and family must not be too far off too.

Yes! I've seen many snakes especially in NSRCC during weekdays! They include pythons that can squeeze you slowly to death, harmless green snakes that are friendly and also King Cobras that can kill you instantly! Hehehe....

On the serious note, do take care when on golf courses. Real snakes do appear! Smile

Zzzzz.....

good post and reminder.

usually, i dont go too deep in and look for stray ball.

my 1st golf coach taught me to bring a club when looking for balls so at least we have something on hand to fight if we are attacked by snakes, wild animals or even robbers.
