#2 - A Feast fit for a Maharajah - come join us!!!

One and a half years ago, I started a thread to host an Indian Affair for a special feast that did not materialize due to several barriers. Lack of venue and the disappearance of the Chef were the main reasons….finally after all this time, its set to become reality.

An Indian Affair

After 3 visit and 2 site recees, the scene is now clear for the Indian Affair 2012 to celebrate the end of the Chinese Lunar Seventh-Month aka Ghost Month.

To make this work, we need at least 45 supporting crew to devour the main dish - A Whole Lamb marinated with special spices, slow roast on charcoal and serve hot, juicy and tender. We don't get many chance to try this version because it’s only available on special occasion in India.

The co-star will be a slow cook chicken biryani (dum style) accompanied by vegetables cooked in spicy, mild and even a paneer (cheese) with spinach. The restaurant is different from the local Indian stalls as this is the real deal traditional India style.

There will also be a variety of Naans and other delightful curries to make the night memorable.

Date, Venue and Price

Date: 28th September 2012
Venue: Hacienda Poolside, Hacienda Grove, Singapore 457911
(East Coast Road, next to Jalan Tua Kong. Behind Pasta Fresca, Adders Ice Cream)
Time: 7.15 pm to 11.00 pm, if no complaints we can drag longer.
Attire: As causal as you want to be - there is a pool next to the pit and you are encourage to take a dip (not birthday suit please unless you have a body built like Slinger)

Price: at 45 people, we are roughly looking at $30 per pax, we can easily feed 55 and divide the total.

Beer: TBA, if we hit 60 glasses, we can order them from the restaurant in draft form and it will save a lot of logistic and clearing work afterwards. too bad Asahi is away otherwise those cute Asahi will be a great way to consume beer.

Parking: please try and car pool as there are about 15 lots for visitors only. Public parking available across the street but a grueling 2-minute walking distance required.

Hahaha.... Bran. Once you see what kind of meat and how it is sold up in the mountains, you will be like a friend of mine who hiked his way up there years before you.

He went up a carnivore, and came down a vegetarian (to this day)!
