Actually, if value for money definitely RCC if u think it's not far.....but hor, lastest news is they are going to reno the palm course and want members to top up for the repair. RCC AGM is on the 25th sept n it's not up to the club management to decide. Members got the right to decide via voting. When Seletar ask members to topup funds to extend the land lease. Members rejected the motion n they could only postpone it. RCC is looking at replacing the Palm course with a budget of $24m, increase the club sinking fund to $60m by 2018. They also wanted to increase the members by selling new membership @$60k. Presently they hv a cash flow of $18m n the club is making good returns. Will get a better pic after the AGM.

| My friend just started golf and he was asking me if it's worth joining the member, i did some maths for him as follows, maybe can share with you all. Just my 2cents. I joined before the price increase and converted to Full member, so now lan lan suck thumb lor.
5years Full member (Ordinary) Breakdown:
Current Promo for Term Mbr Fees: $4480 - $450 = $4030 (Can't recall if GST is included or not) Per monthly Term Mbr Fees: $67.16 Monthly Sub Fees: $40 + 7% GST = $42.80
Total Sunken Cost per monthly: $109.96
Playing 18holes Game at Changi: $78.11
Per 18holes Cost (Weekend) If you play, 1 Game a month: $188.07/Game 2 Game a month: $133.09/Game 3 Game a month: $114.76/Game 4 Game a month: $105.60/Game
If you do play weekday game, then it should bring down more, but at $105.60 per game if you play every weekend is abit steep i feel.
SAFRA Member: $166.92/Game @Changi $141.24/Game @Kranji

| $67.16 is it the membership fee divided by 60 months?
Heard there is interest free installment. May I know how many months installment available?

| NSRCC not worth joining! if you calculate the amount to 5 or 6 yrs, might as well pay yearly for MBGC, or just go for a full life membership? Don't fall into NSRCC! | |

| I think it come back to the qns where your kakis playing. I think most people also know NSRCC bo hua in term of long run. But looking at the rates of the local clubs, how many people can afford them. Our environment is not great for sportman, let alone golfers. To play in Malaysia, some will tell u no transport, wife don't allowed etc. As for MBGC, the marshall there can be so inflexible at times, just like last wkend. | |

Sori... my two cents worth.
It used to be very worthwhile to join NSRCC. With the green fees of $38.00.
But since the increase.... you see much lesser people. NSRCC shot themselves in the foot.
Their thinking of increasing revenue just by increasing the green fees is totally wrong. They should have known Better.
I would also offer the advice of staying away from NSRCC. If you're already a member like I am, the word is LAN LAN.

| Many reason why someone join a club, kakis, convenience, locality etc etc.. While some find NSRCC not worth their pennis, some may find it a gem while others join in a desperate dash for a golf membership.
But if you are gonna compare the old $38 against revised $48... its just starting to get into the 10cent 20 cent argument. For some $10 is pocket change and wont feel the pinch.. while others value it with their weight in gold. Its very subjective...
Well for myself , I joine because its really convenient as its only 5 min from my place, I can match ball on evenings when I am free and i have kakis I can join. Wunderbar!
Worth buyng it or not, does not really matter to me at this time, I dun wanna sweat the small stuff...
So if you guys out there who are still on the fence and undecided, if it dun hurt your wallet, go for it... its less crowded now anyway.. more bang for your buck..

| Yeah it is less crowded now. Hopefully the management will do a re-calculation and offer discounts for membership or lower the green fees. Mine is expiring in 2 months' time. Unlikely to re-new as I don't play so regularly. Hence game is going to get worse. If itchy to play, just got to look for a kind bro who is a member to sign me in or join MGK.
NSRCC is good for someone like me who just wanted to get into the game. It is convenient, well-maintained, have 2 venues to play. It has been 5 years and now at least I can play with my friends and business associates.
If it matches your needs, it is a pretty good club.
