DGman Nothing beats a Malay wedding held at the kampung where vats of curry, rendang, nasi pulut, etc are cooked right in the open.......there's a lot colour, music and noise....too bad there aren't any kampungs left in SG...... You still can come to Indonesia for that bro

I agree with the writer. True Racial Harmony is only embraced when we can make jokes about each other religions/cultures, sit down and laugh together at the end of the day.

| One day a duck went into a hardware store and asked the owner for some duck food.
The owner looked at him funny, and said, "This is a hardware store and we don’t carry duck food."
The next day the duck came back to the hardware store and again asked the owner for some duck food. The owner, disturbed that the duck came back, said, "Look, Duck. I told you yesterday. This is a hardware store; we do not have any duck food! If you come back and ask for duck food again I will cement your feet in the ground!"
So the next say the duck came back again and asked, "Do you have any cement?" "No," said the storeowner. "We just ran out yesterday and we will not be expecting any new stock until next week.
Then, the duck said, "Do you have any duck food?"

| Five cannibals get employed as programmers in an IT company.
During the welcoming ceremony the boss says: "You're all part of our team now. You can earn good money here, and you can go to the company canteen for something to eat. So don't trouble the other employees". The cannibals promise not to trouble the other employees.
Four weeks later the boss returns and says: "You're all working very hard, and I'm very satisfied with all of you. One of our developers has disappeared however. Do any of you know what happened to her?" The cannibals all shake their heads and reassured the boss that they have mend their ways.
After the boss has left, the leader of the cannibals says to the others: "Which of one you idiots ate the developer?"
One of the cannibals raises his hand hesitantly, to which the leader of the cannibals says: "You FOOL! For four weeks we've been eating team leaders, managers, and project managers and no-one has noticed anything, and now YOU ate one developer and it got noticed."

| There were three pigs.
The biggest pig went to the market and asked for the largest soda. He gulped it up and asked where the bathroom is. "Right over there," says the store clerk.
Then, the middle pig went to the market and asked for the largest soda. He gulped it down and asked where the bathroom was too. "Right over there," said the store clerk.
Finally, the littlest pig came in the market and asked for the largest soda. He gulped it all down. The store clerk asked," Aren't you gonna ask where the bathroom is?"
"Nope," said the little pig," Don't u remember I'm the one that wee wees all the way home."

At the funeral, to the embarrassment of all, the boyfriend is there and is crying hysterically. Finally, the husband can't take anymore of it. He approaches the man, puts his arms around him and says "Please don't carry on like this. I'll marry again.

| Somewhere in between my grand scheme of things and getting distracted, I decided to accompany my sister in this year Nike's We Run SG 10K. We signed up for this event about a month ago. They provided registration fairly easy over the internet which is a standard these days but irritatingly to me, all the race information is only available through their FaceBook Page. Whatever happened to having your own website? Anyways, my sister and I made our way to Orchard Central last week to collect our Race Pack. Initially, we planned to avoid the first day due to our phobia of crowds. I regretted it the next day. There were so many XMMs and first 300 people who showed up had free customization on their running shirts! You could have your initials printed on the back of shirt like this... the super runner badge was something that you can only earn by proving that you can run 500 metros within 4 minutes and you had to do that on the spot on the thread mill. They do provide running shoes for you there on the spot if you are up for the challenge. Your unique race number will also be printed on the bottom front left corner of your shirt. This is what we went down for last Thursday. Yes. Collecting our Race Pack and Cold Stone Creamery. Ha! What a way to start the event. But we were not alone! Alot of other people are doing it as well!! Anyway, this is what is in the race pack; Nike We Run SG 10K reusable tote bag. Nike We Run SG 10K Running Shirt. Nike Water Bottle Race Tag & Fastener Finisher Wrist Label Race Information Pamphlet Zalora Voucher SSC Health Information Pamphlet The bag is pretty cool. It is big and can be of great use in your next trip to the supermarket to get groceries. You can chip in your bit to help the environment by using it and cutting the usage of plastic bags. The Shirt has some pretty disappointing reviews so far on their FaceBook page but it felt okay to me and perhaps this is only because this is my first race. I would make similar comparison next week once I have collect my Race Pack for the Adidas King of The Road race. Shirt Material is not exactly standard dri-Fit and it feels more like a thin cotton shirt. But so far, everything else is telling me it is DRI-FIT. It feels comfortable wearing it for both running and casually. I am just surprised that the shirt is black in color despite it being a day event. The water bottle is a pretty standard squeeze bottle and I would guess that it has a 16oz or 500ml capacity. There is no label on it though. The Race Tag is the green strip you see in the picture above and it is meant to loop around your laces. I would do a short write up for it in my upcoming review of the event itself. Race Information Pamphlet is detailed and it includes the standard T & C, race route information and what to do and not to do on the day itself. SSC Health Pamphlet has the standard and good questions that one needs to run though to make sure that one is in good health and condition to participate in such a race. So we now look forward to the big day on Sunday. Photo credits of Race Pack Collection Day goes to Nike Running Singapore FaceBook Page. | |
