Use of club head cover during a round of golf

I remember when I first played with MC, G_Man and Siaw8. I had my Scotty putter with me which I neglected to re-cover once I had used. They gave me the glare of death, almost as if I had sold my daughter to a lifetime to slavery.

Since then, I take better care of my clubs. Plus, with forged clubs, you'd want to make sure that they are kept ding-free.

Yeah, apparently, clubs being broken in two or being chucked into the water would be fine.

MC, you came to the course looking all smiley. You had a new R7 Unlimited (I think) with the stock shaft. And you said that it hadn't been hit and wasn't 'broken in' yet. I remember looking at your swing with big eyes and reminding myself how fortunate I was to play with you. How I could learn from you. How I could mimic you. How I could aspire to be you.

When you hit your first ball, it was super far. But the following driver shots were quite a different story.
