| Punggol range is own by SLA, SLA being kiasu because surrounding areas car park and HDB car park are all paid carpark! SLA being kiasu implement paid carpark, making Punggol range at a disadvantage compered to Bishan, OCC and Toa Payoh. I drove there once only, thereafter I dont visit there. Poh brothers are stuck, no choice but stay till contract expire.
Occasionally I would cycle there with my small golf bag spend $6.00 maximum 90 balls Than I would leave..
I would rather go OCC when they have offer one to one, bought $100.00 worth and can use for a long time! example OCCC $10.00 = 178 balls $100.00 = 1780 x 2 = 3560 balls ( 1 for 1).

| I would prefer OCC although I stayed near Punggol range due to its auto tee system..
The one for one is also a great deal.
Cheers

| if i stay in punggol i will just go there.. beats driving in traffic and spending an hour on the road... i rather spend that time i hv to spend travellin on something absolutely useless like stare at the wall..
if the hoardes of families are occupying the bays i will jus stay away from those...
life is too short to make it any more complicated... esp for $3 parking... just not worth it.
my two cents... | |

| Now that u guys spelt these out, i realised ive been topping up alot of cash cards recently due to the expensive parking in punggol.
This uncle whom seem friendly teaching everyone how to play golf, when he 'teaches' one bay, the next 12 bays can hear him. im not even sure if he is the trainer or the shopkeeper.
I remembered some ranges have signboards stating rules like keeping voices down.
The putting mat upstairs is for kids to run around.
The drift car (hyundai) looks quite funny but i kinda like it.

The drift car (hyundai) looks quite funny but i kinda like it. This uncle is the salesman from world of golf telling me how his club can swing me instead of the other way round. It is quite irritating as sometimes when we just want to drill to correct certain mistakes and he keep telling us what we did is wrong.

my two cents... Gd sayg! My same tot too. In a nutshell, punggol never used to have a range and many golfers have to travel east to NSRCC or north to OCC. There is the element of additional time for driving, cost of petrol etc.. I rather look at it now there is an additional convenience of having a range option nearby that we can go for a quick fix and sort our swing out and go home within time for our family dinner,, outing etc... With us being so busy with work and golf itself takes another half a day or more, convenience of time is priceless... I suggest our punggol resident golfers look at it this way.. 1. When we have more time go OCC or NSRCC, more quieter and more exclusive with free parking. 2. When we need to do a quick turnaround, Punggol its gonna be... with an additional $3 for parking. (as for the uncle , you can always tell him nicely to shut the f**k up) I'm not staying in punggol and do not have any range nearby that I can use other than NSRCC Changi or MBGC since Laguna have been only for private members... and mind you, NSRCC do not allow non members to range there on weekends... So having a convenience of a range near my place albeit paying for parking will be super..... Have a good day and a good round of golf..

I drove there once only, thereafter I dont visit there. Poh brothers are stuck, no choice but stay till contract expire. I do not think it is in SLA's interest to own a range. They have leased their land where it does not figure in the next 3 years of the State's master plan. Therefore, they auction it off publicly pockets of land for lease on a 3 year rolling contracts. This was picked up by an investor, whether it is the range itself or someone else - whether there is parking or not it is down to the lease holder or the range. With modern technology, anything is possible they can always provide facilities to redeem car park charges. That itself is not being done and secondly, the rates are high.
