Ladies Included...

Just found out one of the longest hitters I have played with is teeing off with a 44.25" driver.. And he is more than one head taller than me..

Got me thinking... Is shorter better ?? Is mine too long??

Should I keep mine shorter to perform better??

Please share your length and advice...

Long or short doesn't matter, more important is performent.

It's all in the shaft. I even thought at one point that the lighter the shaft is (Fujikura Blur - 55g), the faster it should logically go and therefore longer distance. Which is all very true. But I am now using a 104g Nventix Nunchuk shaft and I seem to be hitting the same distance but more consistently straight. Nothing is what it seems. In fact I hit my longest drive ever with the heavier one 240m.

Today I tried a stiffer and shorter shaft ( Cobra Graphite Design)
And a longer (by an inch), lighter, regular shaft ( XL 270 Cleveland C Kua)

The longer , lighter regular shaft beat the other 100%

That's is why the Cobra is up for sale!

P.S. I suspect the flex is more crucial than the length.
The moment I choke down on the longer driver distance drop a bit.

Mine is 44inc SR Di5 light shaft w R11 driver head D1 weight...avg 200-220m.My fitter make sure I got a better swing speed at 44inc...

Just my personal opinion. It does not matter whether it is a 44" or 45" + in length. I rather that I can hit it short and on fairway all the time, then long and in the rough or in difficult lie.

Everyone is looking for long and on fairway but how high percentage were weekend warrior players ?

I wish I can hit 250m but I have already given up this dream as I know I do not have the talent. To able to get 220 - 230m with roll and on fairway. I am a happy man already Very Happy

1st thing that comes to mine when I saw this thread was DUVAL. ROFL

Joke aside... Talk to the Fool guy who is going going arounds shooting scores below 70s and also challenging people to play with him now (Chien talk note hor!). The shaft of his driver is longgggggg and he hits it longggggg too... Very Happy

Yea bro. I totally believe in flex and whip of shafts. So what's your length?? You prefer it longer too??

Yup.... actually both of us using the same driver... but hor, he hits so far that I need another 5 wood to reach his driving distance.... What a Face

Bro Chien... why you need a longer drive? With your current drive, you are already having almost 100% GIR with your approaches. Trying to drive the green, izzit? Scary!!!

Mine is 45" standard but sometime hold at 44" ..

Mine 45" as well...

I was thinking if I'm just 1 meter tall, I doubt my drive will be longer or more consistent with a 46" than to a 40" driver... I feel that there should be a max length to height ratio.

Having said that, we r talking abt 43.5"-47.5" on an average asian height in this topic.

What do u guys think?
