I think its the time taken to play, especially in singapore where play is so slow and 5+ hr rounds are the norm at most places. Overseas even in the US even when course is packed 3+ or 4+ hr rounds are much more common than here....

Me and my brother (2ball) play on Thursday we start 12.00pm and finished 18 hole by 230pm, Marshal asked you just finished 9 holes? we said no, we finished 18 holes!

We complete 18 holes in 2.5 hours, that's why now we dont play on Saturday where its crowded, drive the ball and wait, wait for the flight infront to finiish putting., lose momentum..l.

I had a similar topic of discussion in a separate forum before. And the findings have been zoomed in to these three:

1/ Accessibility - meaning the availability of the course/range/facilities to people in comparison to other sports

2/ Cost - it is still being viewed as an relatively expensive sport.

3/ It is a fxxxg difficult game to enjoy; it takes a lot of commitment and sacrifices

I used to think golf is waste of effort, hit one ball then travel to another point. Now am enjoying the game but still hardly can get a constant hit for a newbie like me. I got my wife to learn the game, so she can join me for my game with my friends in near future. Smile

no la, must be good hor. you cannot play that fast if you take 4-5 shots to reach the green, waste time to find balls, drop balls/return to the original place and take 3 putts every green. Must have hit every fairways and most greens, or one chip one putt if you missed Very Happy
