| which year are you looking at? you can check out the reviews on bmw-sg forum. the 335 with the N54 engine, there was a persistant problem with the high pressure fuel pump and ABS pump w/ micro chip. maintenance wise..spare parts are pricey and if you go to an aftermarket repairshop..prob can save abit on the labour. performance..if you put it thru some tuning and zhng it with aftermarket suspensions and air intakes..sweeeee hope it helps... | |

| 335 considered under sports category right? The road tax and insurance will be expensive.
How old are you? | |

| getting sick of driving Merc liao ar ?...haha
when you wanna buy a beamer, whether worth or not should not be a consideration...right ?....haha
in general, i felt inside cabin for a 3 series are rather small...maintenance cost would be high for BMW, coz both my sis and bro are driving BMW...
with the same amount of $$$, i guess would get a better Merc....

I'm very stingy with cars. Hahaahaa if you are stingy with car, then i think BMW would not be a good choice. Both maintenance and fuel consumption are higher than Merc. My sis used to drive a Merc. But if it's a dream, then just let it come true lah..dun think so much first... same word "just buy, buy already, if dun like, then sell me cheap cheap....."haha !!!

| I just test drove the new 335 (F30) recently, and honestly, was not too impressed by it. The drive feels somewhat lackluster and the interior left quite a bit to be desired for a supposed premium model.
If you're looking at a sedan, perhaps the Jaguar XF might be an alternative. Been in a couple and they look fantastic and ride pretty good too.
Otherwise, if you're set on BMWs, the M3 is a much better buy IMO.

with the same amount of $$$, i guess would get a better Merc.... Bro Snowman Yes the 3 is smaller than the 5.. But comparing its similar class, the 3 is a tad longer and wider than the C200.. On the maintenance, from experience its comparable... Although I understand it's easier to purchase Merc parts from outside than BMW parts...

| Depending on what u want? If you just want a car that drive around, imho, the 328 would be more than enough, 335 is a bit overkill but of cos if you can afford the 335 why not get the m3. In term of power I don't think a merc can match the beemer unless you are talking abt the AMG series. But boot wise, all european cars sucks, nothing beat the humble altis.
As for servicing, beemer due to the high sales recently the wait time is for service is normally a wk. Cost wise, no parts, generally $300-400. But avoid changing parts with PML. Sometimes they can really overcharged.
