I mean.. if we use lofted clubs for 70-90m shots to green, do we still get our hand before the ball (i.e rely on the bounce) or hand after the ball (i.e. rely on compression)? I actually have the same question for those 50m-90m type of pitching shots. I'm another one taught to put ball back in stance, lean forward n arms forward n duffing it a lot

| I see most pros taking a slightly open stance when chipping, why is this so? Do we then swing accordingly to the body direction or along target line? | |

| Easier to swing through i think. Standing open or close is always in reference to the target line. | |

| I'm with Duffy on this one ... swing the club in the direction you want the ball to go ... and take whatever stance which allows you to do so naturally with consistent contact ... for me I think it is neutral (maybe slightly open) but I am not too sure, don't really think about it too much ... my aiming method involves picking a spot 6 inches in front of the ball on the target line and adjusting my club face to try and send the ball over that spot | |

| for us old men, we have inactive hips so there's a chance of getting stuck coming down if we address parallel to intended path; however, having open stance will increase your chance of pulling if you subconsiously want to align shoulder with feet | |

Key point! Feet may be open , but shoulders need to be square ... As the shoulders dictate our swing path! Only when the clubface is opened up can the shoulders point left

cos the mat doesnt dig. you hit behind the ball and it just drags till it hits the ball. to see if you hit the mat first, listen to the sound. do you hear 2 sounds or 1 sound

| I think to execute the right pitch, it requires calmness in one-self. Breathing the right way helps...I think | |

to see if you hit the mat first, listen to the sound. do you hear 2 sounds or 1 sound It is ok to hear 2 sounds but the first sound has be one that hit the ball sound before hitting the ground (2nd sound).
