I see most pros taking a slightly open stance when chipping, why is this so? Do we then swing accordingly to the body direction or along target line?

I also open stance ... Donno why

Easier to swing through i think. Standing open or close is always in reference to the target line.

I'm with Duffy on this one ... swing the club in the direction you want the ball to go ... and take whatever stance which allows you to do so naturally with consistent contact ... for me I think it is neutral (maybe slightly open) but I am not too sure, don't really think about it too much ... my aiming method involves picking a spot 6 inches in front of the ball on the target line and adjusting my club face to try and send the ball over that spot

Key point! Feet may be open , but shoulders need to be square ... As the shoulders dictate our swing path! Only when the clubface is opened up can the shoulders point left

to see if you hit the mat first, listen to the sound. do you hear 2 sounds or 1 sound

I think to execute the right pitch, it requires calmness in one-self. Breathing the right way helps...I think

It is ok to hear 2 sounds but the first sound has be one that hit the ball sound before hitting the ground (2nd sound).

Sure talk about it. How many of us have a chance of 6 iron 2nd into the green for a par 5?

u mean mid iron to the fringe for 2nd shot on a par 5 but walk off highest score?

I can think of 1 other.
