| Hi guys,
I've recently been afflicted with a weird problem.
A trigger finger (right hand) that feels like it's been sprained. Feels twitchy and sore even when I'm typing. Kinda like the tendons aren't working like they usually do. It's not serious enough to warrant seeing a doctor (to me at least) although it does feel as if it's going to give me some problems on my downswing. Perhaps I'm trying to control the weight and head direction of the club too much with my trigger finger?
Anybody ever had this problem and if so, is there so kind of remedy that would help? Ice? Heat pack? Plenty of rest? Give up golf (Nooooooo!!!!!!)
Appreciate any feedback anybody has. Thanks!!!

| I had the same problem previously. Went to see a doctor and was given muscle relaxants. Did not see any improvement after 1 week and went back again. This time the doctor gave me a steroids jab to the infected area and the problem went away after few days.
Best to go consult a doctor early to get rid of the nagging feel. Hope this helps.

| Or stopping gripping so hard... Someone wise once told me that the key to gripping the club is either like how one would grip a bird in their hands... Tight enough to keep it from flying away but not so tight till you choke the life out of it | |

Someone wise once told me that the key to gripping the club is either like how one would grip a bird in their hands... Hard to change bad habits...*sigh*...but thanks bro..gripping a bird in the hand is rather suggestive...hahaha - bigmud13 wrote:

| This whole thing about gripping a bird in your hands ... if you guys have ever held a bird that wants to fly away, you have to hold pretty firmly .... | |

| This bird analogy is damn cheem.. I city-boy.. never held a real life bird that could fly away in my hands...
I can only imagine if holding birdie in my hands, sometimes the bird feel happier if I hold loosely... but sometimes maybe the bird feel happier if I hold tighter? But of course cannot hold too tight until the bird turns purple and then maybe get sick and vomit?
Actually if you need a cortisone/steroid shot; it's pretty serious and you should only do it as a last resort.. better to seek some professional help and change the grip a little to prevent permanent nerve damage.
