| Played MBGC yesterday. Course is in good condition! Weather was tough, with very strong winds.
Tee boxes - good, however quite soft. Big divots on par 3 and par 4 where I use irons. Fairways - Satisfactory. Grass is quite long, maybe due to CNY??? Rough - good, definitely not dead if you are in the rough. Greens - nice, but slow. Quite sandy as well. Speed is not consistent on all greens. Bunkers - have not been in 1 last round!!!
I had my first good round of the new lunar year! Maybe it is because of my dragon headcover... Was on my way to a personal record, but made a very unnecessary triple bogey on the 18th hole. Felt really horrible when stepping off the course, realized a few hours later that it was still my second best round ever, so overall quite happy.
1 thing which is quite strange, hole 8 or 17 (don't know if I played front or back nine first) is a ridiculously long par 4, +/- 415 meters from white tee. Headwind was tough. Had a great drive of 210 meters, still 200+ meters to the green with water in front, so no choice but 2 lay up. Pitch on the green, 2 putts and I was very happy obviously. My playing partners congratulated me on a solid par, I told them it was bogey, but they claim that on the tee box it said par 5 (scorecard says par 4). We were too lazy to drive back to the tee box, so I counted par 4, they insisted on par 5. After the round we forgot to ask the MBGC staff. Anyone has a clue about this? It is the par 4 quite close to the clubhouse, right before the short par 3, close to the highway.

| Ok, confirmed it is hole 8. Apparently there is a paper at the tee box (white and blue are together) that for white tee it is a par 5, and for blue it is a par 4. Sounds strange to me... | |

| Normally hole 8 is a par 4. Plays 381m from white tee
If it is playing 415m, it means the white tee was shifted to the blue tee.
That is probably the reason hole 8 is a Par 5 from the white just for the day.

| longest par 4 on white is the 14th. Close to 400 meter if I'm not mistaken. Hole 8 is par 4, index 1, around 380meter odds.. damn I've played here too many times. | |

| Played ytd where white is combined with blue. Din noe tat it is taken as par 5 leh.
Really a damn long hole if a par4. With the headwind, easily lose 1-2club distance.

| That's the 8th hole. It's killer long. Very difficult. OB on the left, water on the right (IIRC). I always tell myself... if I score a 5 there, it's a good birdie! | |

It is the par 4 quite close to the clubhouse, right before the short par 3, close to the highway. bro, you mentioned in your first line "course is in good condition", but then followed up with what seems to be like just average or below average sort of comments on the respective areas. So, does it mean the course is not in that good of a conditiona afterall? I like your comment on the fairway grass quite long. For a links type of course, which typically would have very tightly mowed fairways, MBGC does not really live up to the characteristics of a links course other than its bunkers. Roughs like you said are not dead as they are not long rough and definitely not links course type of rough. As for the greens, really love your comment. Nice, but slow. Which means its not that nice afterall with the additional comment of inconsistent greens and sandy. Gotta give it to them the amount of sands they put on their greens. In terms of annual quota for sands they put on the greens, probably ranked no.1 in the world. I have never seen a course that top-dressed their greens on a weekly basis. That's why MBGC always have slow, bumpy greens that lead to inconsistency greens.

| 8th is a Par 4, 17th is also a Par 4. So either way it was a bogey.... Sorry. | |

| Bro @Schulo...Sounds like it is the 8th before the par 3... as @shorthitter mentioned, it is a PAR 4. With head wind and the blue tees moved to the blacks, it is virtually impossible for a average lousy golfer like me to GIR unless if the ball takes a free ride on the buggy track on the left (that is the game plan I alway have, then pray the ball do not bounce over the fence and into the park)

| For #8, even with backwind to the tune of tornado, still can't reach in 2 | |

| Cannot reach green in 2 is ok... as long as the ball is in the hole in 4 The only saving grace of this hole is that the fairway on the left is pretty wide (minus the one bunker which if you drive into it, a par is virtually gone) so 3 on 1 putt is still very possible for the above average golfers. | |
