| Hi, im a newbie in golf, may I get some recommendation on which iron set should I buy? R11 or Burner? My swing is quite average & consistent, but i could only hit about 130m using 7 iron and the distance between my 5,6,7 iron is not that great.
Thanks in adv | |

| Tks bro.
Hm... I tend to have a very high launch, I heard that Burner 2.0 has a high launch. I'm not sure will i get some gain in distance if I choose a set that has no enhancement for the launch. I think there is something wrong in my swing, i ball flies also quite high even using my 5 iron but distance wise, my 5 iron could never reach 150m mark..... that s y im wonder could i gain some distance by using another iron set =)

| Try going to a club fitter. They will be able to measure your swing, distance etc... And give you proper advise | |

Tks 72 =) any gd club fitter to recommend? im newbie in golf =p R11 might be worth considering. It is a newer model. Wanted to buy the TM CB but when I google, it seem the R11 is rated much better than TM CB or Burner 2.0. Btw - IMHO, if you playing 130m with 7 iron steel shaft, that not too bad if you are consistent and dispersion is small. No point having longer distance and it is all over the place.

| Between those 2, i'll prefer the burner. But why not consider the Callaway Razr Hawk? | |

| oops, i just realized that you all are talking about the iron set, and not the drivers...
i'm using the burner pro series. old, but pretty good.
I have a friend who just purchased the burner 2.0, and is very happy with it.

| Hey David, like u i, im quite new too and was looking at burner irons. Went to the TM demo at JCC a week back and tried out the R11 vs burner 2.0, I prefer the R11's over the burner (both on ns pro). Somehow the weight of the R11 seems better distributed throughout the whole club than the burner 2.0 and the launch of the R11 feels better for me. Im a high launcher too on my current set, maybe cuz im using graphites. U could also try the CB / MC irons as they're about same playability as the R11's. Never tried those 2 tho. Best to look-up golfgreedy.com for the next TM demo date and place. Next irons im probably getting a maltby set tho. Decent and pretty cheap irons. Cheers. | |

| How much is considered reasonable.? If i needed a set of those, i'd look online for good deals usually. e-bay / globalgolf. Just do ur research before u purchase. Anw, i recall a set of burner 2.0s in our "market place" being sold by "cristal" for a friend or smth. Should be on page 1 if not 2.
Btw, seeing u stay in the west, which range do u usually frequent.?

Personally, 1K is a lot to invest (just for irons). If I were u, I'll go for a 2nd hand set to practice. After 1.5 years into golf, I'm gaming a set of Mizuno blades. Depends on what you believe in. For me, I believe in "playing to the irons". Yes blades are the most unforgiving, however if I can handle it well, I know that my basics and fundamentals are somewhere there. The most important thing is to practice and practice and practice.... Never give up.
Good luck bro! | |
