I believe this type of grip is rare in golf and was wondering about the benefits of holding a club in baseball grip. I understand it's a stronger grip. Can anyone advice if this is a good grip? Smile

TDO, I did experiment with the baseball grip several months back and realised that my right hand tends to overpower my left (I am right handed). I was hitting quite a number of hooks and eventually had to really weaken my left hand grip. Honestly, baseball grip isn't that bad and I was hitting it very well for a few weeks after the change.

Having said that, I am now back to my overlap grip. I just lost the feel on how to grip it baseball like.

i use it for putting. my right hand does all the work. left hand just there for the ride.

Before baseball grip, i used overlap putting grip, and my left and right were bickering about which hand rules the putting stroke Razz

i am using the baseball grip...

i started with the the interlock but din like it...

with the interlock, i see the 1st n 2nd kunckles on my right hand...

with the baseball, i barely see the 2nd kunckles...

guess i am used playing with the baseball grip....

cos i feel i can load up easier than other grips...

n also i dun like my index finger resting on my other fingers....

my natural ball flight is a fade....

if my timing is off, i usually pull my shots..... straight pull, no duck hook

It seems the baseball grip is less complicated from the above comments.

TDO, you should experiement with it. In fact, I am now trying to switch it back but need to get back the feeling again. I feel that the impact is much better and more solid with this grip.

I tried the baseball grip yesterday at Poresia's Par 3 Hole (I now remembered it's Hole 8 Hibiscus). Not a bad hit, just a slight fade and landed neared the fringe. But require more correction to grip. Cool

here in our country,

junior golfers, aged 5 to 10 are taught to used baseball grip

With proper guidance, baseball grip works well specially for those who lacks power

With baseball grip, there's an increase in distance

I know it because I see it often on Junior golfers and it works

Maybe it's time to pick up baseball grip again. My experience with baseball grip was back in late 1995 when I first pick the first club, a 7i. Smile
