- Hi, i am new to the game.
Was testing my MachSpeed Driver yesterday, the sound is like much louder (or hollow) as compared to the rest of the guys driving in the range?
Is it normal? I thought i needed ear plugs…. The square head?
Yes it sounds a little different from other drivers. In fact it sounds a lot louder than the old Sasquatch 5600 Square headed driver. But if you nail it right on a full swing, it does fly. Unfortunately, my driving has been consistently inconsistent and it gets progressively worse when I start to panic.
Yup the square head. Its practice, practice, practice for now….

| I switched from a machspeed 9.5 to VR 9.5 and am pretty happy with it.
Just finished 2 rounds at Ria bintan, playing 20XI balls. I must say, pretty happy with the new Nike Balls. It comes in 2 models, 20XI-X & 20XI-S.
First feel is that the surface is more plastic as compared to a Penta. New technology is the resin core, produce less spin with better control and distance. It doesn't scuff that easily compared to Pro Vs and Penta.
A quick stopper on greens with a few soft backspins. Imagine a 190m hybrid shot stopped within a metre from pitch mark. Irons approach to green also produced almost immediate stops, mid irons produced a few soft backspins.
Putting feels hard. Prefer the penta over nike for putting.
I just feel that the greens a bit too soft, didn't produce much runs. Will try again on local greens.

| i have tried 20XI-X and dun see much difference from One Platinum. But agree with wilkang that somehow the putting have to hit more to get the distance. This is good for me so I not so worried about mid distance putt. | |

| Not known on the release dates for all the equipment mengteck, but at the very least according to here:
http://ngnation.com/2011/08/26/sneak-peek-2012-nike-golf-equipment/
At least some of the stuff are coming on 01 Nov 11 (01.11.11). Think if we give and take the amount of time it will reach South East Asia, will take anywhere from a month to 6 months unless you order it online.
The 2012 equipment doesn't really appeal to me, the old 2011 Irons look a lot better.
But then again, I haven't even master my 2010 SQ Machspeed Irons, it'll be a tad funny to even think about getting the 2011 VR Pro line of Irons.....

| Had tried the VRPro Combo at the Nike shop. The finishing and everything about it is just great if you ask me. But after 5 hits, I still couldn't find the sweet spot. It was an absolute nightmare and demolished my morale to bits. Then the store assistant passed me back the VRPro Cavity and the smile returned to my face as I hear the sweet *tick-tick-tick* right on the sweet spot... Of cos, that demoralising session with the VR Pro Combos doesn't really explain why I played horribly at the course the next day. I'd lost over 1 dozen balls to forests, lakes and a bad caddy. Devastating shanks, tops, slices and hooks.... The types of shots that returned to haunt me when I'd never imagined myself doing those in the first place. | |
