| Ok Have just confirmed with SIA. The 6 kg from the Golf bag will be part of your total normal allowance of lets say 20kg pax. Solve all my problems as I have a total of at least 80kg allowances overall. Thanks to everyone who contributed here. Think this topic could help future travellers.

- I have a question - golf bags are considered by sq as bulky equipment which are subject to excess baggage charges even if there is actually no excess, I.e. Total luggage weight is less than the airline's allowance?
If so, would the airline consider Sunday bags as normal luggage or as special baggage that is subject to the charges?
Also, I wonder what is the proportion of folks here that travel with Sunday bags instead of the full set cart/stand bags when traveling for golf? I would like to use a Sunday bag but can't decide which clubs to leave out of the bag.... My previous thread will answer your question. The 6 kg from the golf bag will be part of your overall total of 20kg. You don't need to pay any excess if you checkin with in the regular limit of 20kg allowance.

| Titu, can go for 1 month holiday so I am sure the charges for extra baggage is nothing to you. | |

| If the whole family is going, then I think you should have enough baggage allowance to bring your golf bag along but just don't put 5 drivers in or else custom may think that you are trying to smuggle in to avoid taxes. Enjoy your vacation bro. | |

Blee if one is a kf gold member, which i believe you shd be (right?) then checking golf bag is never a problem unless you really bring your gold bars or stone in addition to your "normal" luggage. Allowance is 40kg or 3 piece check in and i believe thats why you never get any issue whatsoever

you should only seek out shops that you have friends that have gone there before... i've been to HK many times and i normally go back to the same shop which when asked for prices, will normally quote me an absurd price but once my HK friend who is a regular there went back with me, the prices that you can get there are actually far cheaper than singapore
