putt better with IPing? Empty
PostSubject: putt better with IPing?   putt better with IPing? I_icon_minitimeWed Aug 24, 2011 6:22 pm

is it me or the putts seem better with the IPing, not because of the data, but because of the extra weight on the shaft.

Tried the other day at home for the first time (not using the cradle but a homemade version), my putting handicap is 11. The balls travel straight and true. Took it off and my putts is not as crisp and true.

Funny it did not register any putts with my Odyssey DFX (my homemade version not very good one).

Is it legal to putt on course with the IPing cradle & Iphone? Can collect data plus it seems to balance the putter.

Works just fine with the odyssey 2 ball!

Yes, weight does matter ... were you using it indoors or on the putting greens? Putting handicap of 11 is not that great ... Do not compare it to your actual golf handicap! You can do much better Beer

if anyone is interested about how the iPing fare against the Sam Putt Lab or Zenio, please drop me a PM.

in a nutshell, the iPing was developed using existing gyrating software thats available in the iPhone itself, so it has limitations.

1. it does not measure aiming
2. it does not take into account the occurence, the impact and the result. it only measures the stroke.
3. it does not work well when the golfer has a wide arc
4. it does not measure true loft at impact
5. it has limitations on accuracy.
6. it is free but users have to buy a cradle

having said that it does help golfer get a consistent tempo and they can use the existing database to get an indication of where they will stake up.

but for a free software, its not a bad idea really...compared to the Zenio, the iPing is able to give user some reading in some aspect. however i will not be using the iPing for putter fitting purposes.
