| Hi Guys,
Just curious how many shots do most of us think we would improve by if we played from the red tee.

| For me, at least 5-6 strokes per game.
It would make the par 4s above 350metres easier, but might make the shorter par 3s tougher.

Then they will have enough real estate to make MBGC a 27 hole course.

| It might not be necessarily easier as one can be caught in an "in-beyween" club situation. There was once I played in Ria Bintan with a 8-hdp and another 12-hdp. It was an invitational tournament and for some strange reasons, Ria Bintan pushed the white tees up to yellow (which is just before the red). These guys started well - with birdies and pars. But as the game wore on, the started to struggle as they fine that they are in between club after a good drive. Ended up the 8-hdp played 88 and the 12-hdp shot 90. So it is more of course management than the actual length of the course. My 2-cents worth | |

| I dunno, but I cant wait to try... Let's see how I would score if I drive as long as Corn or Alvin What is it with the skirts thing? It's the forward tee | |

| Derek, this question could be re-phrased to; how much better your score would be if you suddenly gain 30m to 60m in driving distance? (Depending where we currently tee off from) Another interesting question to be posed/experimented is this: How much better your score would be if the hole is three times larger in diameter? Golfdigest USA did such experiment over a golf tournament with 15 inch diameter and the avg reduction for high handicapper was 5-6 strokes off. Slightly more for single hcaps. Both questions combined should put the debate abt "drive for sho, putt for dough" to rest If you can make it happen at mbgc, that would be innovative and awesome, imo. | |

| Same score as white? Me not long hitter so likely that will end up with using just a short club to the green for 2nd shot, unlike others who will drive to the green in one and then miss Eagle putt? Oops, below the belt... sorry Corn..... | |

| Hey Pushslice,
I am definitely also looking at the large hole thingy to see how feasible it can be, might do it for a novelty tournament ... we need to assess the damage it will do to the green and the additional cost of having a whole bunch of oversized hole cups ... maybe if we got a sponsor ... hmmm
Yes, the questioned can also be viewed as how much lower would you score if you gained 30-60 meters in driving distance. I remember a famous quote that the fastest way to gain 50m from your drive to to start 50m forward of where you normally tee off from!
I know some people feel that playing off the red tee is a waste of money. I was just wondering if you guys would be willing to entertain the idea.
It might be quite interesting to see if the expectation of scoring lower would translate into added pressure resulting in poorer scores.
