I don't remember how many balls I lost, but I nearly lost my coach,,, a shank with a mean slice (dun ask me how to do this... I dun know even though I still do it now and then) that nearly took out my coach who was observing my swing from the side. Priceless! My first ever 18 holes score was not the first 18 hole i played, because I did not keep track of the score of my first game. It was played at an army commando course, lots of hills, and actually used for commando training I think. 1st tee box was behind a road. The starter hut was right next to it on the left. I stepped up full of anticipation and enthusiasm. This is it, I thought, this is what I practiced all those months hitting hundreds of balls at the range for. The first real tee off of my life, at a real golf course, I will send this ball so far down the fairway Tiger Wood's agents will be calling me up. I gripped the driver as hard as I could (you know this is not a good sign already), took a mighty backswing, and proceeded to make SOLID impact!!!! Thwack!!!! With the big ball, not the small ball. The driver bounced from hitting mother earth and slammed shut at the ball, duck hooking it. The ball took off at many hundred mph. excellent launch angle, perfect spin, STRAIGHT... at the starter's hut. KeTang!!!!! "Oh," I said out loud, "so that's why they put so much fencing there." After my friend has stopped laughing and picked himself up from the ground, he quickly gathered me to drop the 2nd ball in front of the hut. After that, I lost interest slcing the ball, and had more fun with the Turfmate (a buggy, but built like a Segway) zipping up and down the slopes. So, no score. Thankfully.

Damn, you know what? This is exactly what went through my head!!!!! Of course, my very first drive off the 1st White Tee I'd stepped up to ballooned and didn't take off and I can probably hear Tiger Woods agents having a rib-bursting laugh across the 7 seas. I'm not too sure for 2 of my other shots during last week's game though. Everything felt so right, the impact sound on my Driver came off as a nice beautiful and loud *PING* enough for my mentor to shout "Nice Shot". The ball zipped ahead and unfortunately, my caddy wasn't watching and I've got the sun in my eyes, so I'm not sure if I'd made a really good shot or ballooned it as usual. Lost at least 2 balls because of this. Happened a few times at the range too. One smack and I don't know where my ball flew.

| My first game was so bad that my flight mates asked me not to bother to keep score.
Oh wait, that still happens even now...

| First 18 holes ever in the Netherlands was a practice round... Heavy rain, really pouring! Artificial grass on the greens, because of too many people not repairing pitchmarks. Hole 14, short par 4, dogleg left. I decide to hit a 6-iron from the tee... Because of the rain my golve was wet and slippely... My club slipped from my hand and flew into a creek 35 meters away!!!! Managed to get the club back luckily!
Will never forget that first round! Scored 125 or so I think, but I managed to keep all my clubs!
