I actually thought he might miss the cut, based on recent performance.

And look what he did.

Tiger just made birdie at Hole 2. Yesss! Good start.

For hole 3, Tiger finds the fairway off the tee.

The approach was a delicate soft pitch which landed for a good looking birdie chance.

Which he makes. Fist pump.

Tiger is now -7, T6, climbing the leaderboard early. Looking good...

Hole 4 Par 3, something disturbs Tiger right in his swing, causing his tee shot to land on the green well left of the pin. Tiger is left with a long putt.

And I mean long. 3-putt territory.

The putt overshoots the hole on the high side, leaving a tricky downhill putt of about 8 feet.

Possible bogey here.

Rory and Angel Cabrera tee off.

Rory finds the fairway, Angel finds the tree on the left. Despite that. Angel punches out and still finds the green. Rory misses the green to the back left.

Schwartzel birdies hole 1 with an unbelievable chip and run.

Hole 5 Par 4, Tiger found the fairway, presumably no one disturbed him this time. His approach got held by the wind and lands short.

Cabrera's long birdie putt comes to within 2 inches of the cup. Easy tap in par.

Rory putts from off the green, misses long. And pulls the comebacker. Bogey for the first hole.

Hole 6, Par 3.

Green slopes back to front and the pin is just behind the front bunker, very tricky.

Tiger's tee shot goes waaay right. (Faldo asks "Where is this one going?")

And draws through the air.

Lands on the right side of the green, and runs down the slope to below the pin.

That was impressive. I learnt something.

Rory starting shaky man. Tough to save par on #2 which is a birdie hole.

And Tiger makes birdie! Played that tricky pin location perfectly.
