| Can someone help, my driver use to be able to hit 150 - 200m. but now i totally lost it. i can't even drive it out to the 100m. if i swing real light and easy i can only go up to max 100 but when i do my normal swing my ball just cut either to the left or right and i do not achieve even simple distance like 100. i have been told that driver swing 40% weight on left and 60% weight on right place the ball nearer to your left foot!! what went wrong, all my other swing for iron, wedge and hybrid are ok..... | |

| bro, the pros here found it difficult to answer without seeing your swing or even your posture/grip or come to Starry Starry nite next Wednesday...there are bros who can take a look at your swing. or post a video of your driver swing here. My non-pro advice would be......it's the bugger in your head...take rest, just practice putt and chip for the next 2 weeks. Dont worry about weight etc, see ball? Swing it and hit the ball! or maybe it's time to buy a new driver | |

| Normally this happens when ure out of tempo... Normally caused by watching too many videos of the pro's swing vision.. Ur hips might be turning too fast n therefore slicing.
U should go back to ur basic drill n find out wats the main cause.
I'm not a pro but it happened to me b4.

| D, does that apply to children? seriously jaketang, come to SSN lah. Let us help. it happened to me few times before too. I took one of 3 remedies for each time: 1. Rest my driver, didnt touch it for weeks 2. Bought new driver and new shaft 3. Paid for 1 hour lesson with Pro All three could fix my swing issues at the time

| It does sound like a strange problem. Did you use back your old driver and get some distance? | |

| you might want to hit your driver like putting, start with swing back 1 feet between club and ball, if it improve then you swing back a little bit more (about 1 feet more), if it improve then try half swing, once it improve then 3/4 swings. Your weight on both feet should be 50-50.
I'm not a pro but I calibrate myself with this method.

If old one don go....how can new one come ??? I agree with bro duval. This happened to me also. But afterthat I got a brand new swing which is more solid and gives more distance. So it's not a bad thing at all. This is the time for you to reconstruct your driver swing...

| sorry for saying this cos i'm not a pro or anything... but if your driver used to be 150m to 200m, you didn't have much a of swing to start with (i don't mean any offence by this)
if your distance varies by abt 20m, i can understand... but if your ball used to go straight and it varied between 150m to 200m then your difference is too great...
my distance would vary too depending on day, my rest and what not rubbish i like to tell myself but i know that its doesn't vary more than 20m to 30m when it is straight... assuming that i'm using the same driver so if you different is so great to start with, i suggest you head down to SSN to ask some of the better players there or seek out a coach...
once again, i'm sorry for being so blunt, but there is neither malicious intent nor insult intended, i'm just offering my 2 cents worth

| Hi bro,
I had a similar situation sometime back at range... Mind got distracted and tempo totally out... Didn't realise wats e problem and got frustrated...!
Finally tired, took a short break and started to focus on having good contact on e ball... Followed by ensuring that i swing all e way thru before looking at e ball...
And all of the sudden, problem solved..!!!
Hope it helps...
Btw bro shamusan,
Every individual have their own preferred swing... Some maybe unorthodox but still works like a charm..! Unless you had seen his swing and thinks it requires a major change, i hope you will not make loose comments on fellow forumer saying they/he didn't have much to begin with..!
Btw i am jus a high handicapper and as most of the bros here always say... Long term solution is to look for a pro for sound advice..!
Cheers

Robert I dont think Sham is making "Loose" comments... any variation of that sort is surely a swing problem... and since you are a self proclaim high hcp, I Suggest you DO NOT MAKE LOOSE comment yourself !!!
