Advice on open set for new golfer

Hi fellow golfers,

I'm rather new to the golf game, using my dad's old set for lesson now. Planning to get my own set, saw a few options and wanna ask the pro here for advice.

I'm looking at TM R9 iron set or callaway x series, which would suit me (more than beginner less than a pro). Steel or graphite? Which would be better?
