Getting a Chef to reveal his real talent

well last friday, Shamusan and i went to a neighbourhood makan place in Bukit Merah where i frequent and i ordered very simple fried rice, fried eggs sunny side up, a pork rib, a yue kong seafood hor fun and we got free soup.

i asked Chris if he enjoyed his food and the boy told me he did. i have been wanting to test the chef for the longest time...Not the usual dishes that he sells but his real skills in a very commercial setting. i know he used to work in a big restaurant but these days he is just happy making simple dishes in an old HDB estate.

So i asked him if he would prepare a banquet if i come up with $450 to $500 for a table of 10. He said he would...then i asked him what he will serve and he told me he need to plan the menu. But he assured me that it would consist of MC's favourite Braised Whole Shark's Fin, Abalone, etc etc. i really want to leave it to him to surprise us. But the way he don't serve dog's meat so that's a relief.

so how many heros want to join us for this makan schedule around the 12 March. Cost per person...$45 to $50. BYO no charge.

but be forwarned, it can be very good or very ordinary. also waiter and waitress in tee shirt and flip flop slippers. good thing is you can smoke at the table cos its under the stars.
