HYP on the LPGA Tour

Just when I thought the apprenticeship was tough, lo & behold, more tests and tasks were presented to moi.

I also had to pick up Korean and thai, gather local intel on massages, food etc....

If only MT is around, it would hv made all these easier....now if you will excuse me, I gotta go back to giving drill lessons........




In Korean, no less.

Today marks the 1st lesson in Korean.......and my 2nd lesson at the Den.

PS it will be a tough 3 months ahead for Brandon Ong aka you-how-who but we must be vigilant about who we bring on the tour service. the last Barclays was instrumental in making us take this stringent route.

Over at Pattaya for the past few days, it has been a real pleasure for me to see my idol in action; working hard at her game.

From the soundbites coming from her, she likes this course and had done well before.
I have a good feeling she will do well here.

1st day tmr and this fan still gt problem sleeping.
Seems like more excited than the player herself.
Anyway, hope you guys can join me on wishing her all the best!

Miss Park finished the first day with Par 72. 4 stokes behind leader Karrie Webb. tied at 26th.

Just got back from the course. Been a long day for me. Walked full 18 with HYP and witnessed some great shots by her. But I will post my hole by hole commentary later in the night.
Now a bit shacked out after having to go back work after the walk ended at 11.55z

Oh yea! Need to mention this!

On the 18th fairway, HYP centre f/w from tee off. She was 1 over at that time.
However she was undeterred and took out a wood to attempt a two on for this par-5.
Whoosh off goes the shot, hit front edge sloping green and roll off 15 ft from green.
Almost made it but what a shot!!!!!

Then an even better shot to follow; a chip in behind the pin that spins back towards pin for a 3 ft putt!!!!! And she made the birdie!!!!

Well done, HYP!!!!

Well folks, that was how she got to even par.
Very exciting If you were there on course.

Just realized that I won't be able to walk 18 holes with HYP; at most 5 holes coz gotta catch a plane in the afternoon.


Despite the heavy heart, I will still be posting her Day 1 hole by hole happenings.

Hole 1
Nervous tee off, landed left rough off the buggy track.
Punch out to f/w, 3 on and pin high. 1 putt for the par. Nice save!

Hole 2
Tee off landed left f/w bunker. Cannot attack. Lay up then 3 on with a 20 ft putt to par.
Guess what? HYP made it!!!! This was one of the great par saves for her!

Hole 3
Smtg interesting happened here. Yours truly 25 HYP flight mate, Ji Eun hee.
How? Well, my 0830 alarm went off during her tee off!!!!
Thank god she walked off and re tee.
Hahahahhahahahhaa
Back to HYP......f/w hit with her drive. approach shot went back of green left Side but good place to be in. 1 chip and 1 putt to save par.

Hole 4
Par 3- on! Birdie putt missed by a grain on left edge. Nice par!

Hole 5
Knap knap centre f/w. Consistently outdriving her flight mate by 40 yards!
But her approach was short. Nonetheless, chip to 2 ft and putt for the par.

Hole 6
Another f/w hit. GIR for her. But putting nt Happening for her. 2 putts for a par.
While moving off to hole 7, she turns and smiled!
Wahhhhhhh......can die!

Hole 7
Tough dogleg right par 5. After a solid drive, HYP approach reached left rough. Approach shot was short. Her chip in next nearly birdied. Putt for a par and got it!

Hole 8
This was the most memorable hole!
Why? HYP offers a drink to me. But nt wanting to distract her, i politelt declined.
1 on then 2 putts for a par.

Hole 9
Yet another f/w hit. Bunkers aplenty for her approach.
Hit it on to front green but rolled back.
Another nice chip followed by 1 putt for the par.

Hole 10
Tee off landed left rough. Approach was short. Had to chip in which she did and made it another save par!

Hole 11
Fantastic drive again. Split the f/w.
Excellent approach to green. Tough green to par.
Here, special mention to her caddy who reminded HYP to see ji's line of putt.
Birdie putt again skimmed the left edge. Par!

Hole 12
Great looking shot for this par 3. Got to green, ball was at fringe. Chipped in for 5 ft putt for par. But HYP was disturbed by the flies aplenty. Misses par for a bogey.

Hole 13
Great drive down left f/w. GIR followed by 2 putts for par.

Hole 14
As usual, power drive for f/w hit. Great approach on green but yet again, birdie putt skims left edge. Par the hole

Hole 15
Great tee shot across water to leave 30 ft to pin.
Well executed chip that went past flag but back spin to 4 ft.
Promptly birdie the hole! Well done!

Hole 16
HYP in good spirits. Chatting with her fans.
Put it 1 on but in 3 putt zone. Tough putty beckons. She went on to 3 putts for a bogey.

Hole 17
Booming drive to water edge. EAsy chip in for birdie chance.
Alas, fate toying with her as her birdie putt missed by left edge again.
Went away with par.

Hole 18
Great drive down the middle. She paused to think and opt to aim for 2 on, which she so nearly did. A most excellent chip past pin with back pain to 3 ft of hole for the birdie.
And she got it!!!!

Nice even par for the day!

All in, HYP drives were long and good. F/w hits good. GIR also nt too bad.
Her short game was sharp; so many chip past flags and back spin.
Sweet!

Hiaz....nw I cannot sleep; feeling sad that I cannot accompany her for the full 18.
Well, guess you can't hv it all.
