| That rule only applies for powerlines, not lamp posts. They r only immovable obstructions. | |

maens..play from last spot with 2 strokes penalty if play from the last original spot, then only take one penalty, rite? the 2 strokes penalty is an unofficialrule for social game where we hit from nearest point of entry at OB lines. This is when going back to the last spot could be difficult due to speed of play/being pushed by flight behind etc, so additional one penalty added to replace "the repeat shot from the last original spot". obviously shud take a provi ball in the first place lah

| PJ,
Bob is right. For eg, U tee off from box, OB, tee off with provision and thats already a 3rd shot.

| Eh folks, dun start coming up with your own funny rules leh.
The only exception is the flowerbed rule, the rest are still the same under the rules of golf.

My ball strikes a lamp post I am allowed to retake the shot from original position without penalty? As Duffy mentioned, this must be specified in the local rules, otherwise as S70B mentioned, it is considered an immovable obstruction. The local rules at MBGC do not specify retaking shot if it hits immovable obstruction or relief from line of sight from immovable obstruction. Hence, if you do hit a lamp post, then you have to play the next shot from wherever your ball ends up. Also, no relief if the lamp post interferes with line of intended shot, only with stance and swing.

And like S70B rightly pointed out, rules of golf apply in this game. Only the flowerbed one, we are over ruling it. i.e treat flowerbed as hazard if your ball is seen inside the flowerbed.

| No problem.
Only thing I would suggest is that as long as it is clear that your ball entered the flowerbed, please treat as Hazard. There is no need to locate your ball inside the flowerbed.
