This is the admin page for the Lo Hei Game on 8 Feb 12. So no thrash talking or OT here hor.

Lo-Hei Game Details

Date/Day: 8 Feb 12, Wednesday

Time: 13.16 pm onwards (8 tee off times) Single Barrel from 1st tee.

Tee-Box: Blue tee for men, red tee for ladies

Format of play:

Fourballs Matchplay -
All four players play their own ball throughout; at the end of each hole, the low score between the two partners on each team is that team's score.
For example, Players A and B form one team. On the first hole, A scores a 5, B scores a 6, so the team score is 5 which will be used to fight the other team's best score. Only the best score will be used. The 2nd player's score will NOT be used. That is to say in the event there is a tie e.g. both teams score 5. It will be a draw. There will be no fight between the 2nd pair of scores.

So the two pairings will fight thru out the 18 holes. At the end of the 18 holes, the winning pair gets 2 pts, nil for the losing team and 1 pt each if it ends in a draw.
Accumulate the points for the other 5-6 pairs to determine the eventual winning team.

Special Rule

1) For this game, the local rule of free lift for flower beds at MBGC will NOT apply. That is to say, if a golfer hits the ball into the flower bed, pick up, drop and incur 1 stroke penalty. NO FREE LIFT.

2) Out of fence is definitely OB, no matter you see the golf ball or your own balls on the other side of the fence. The perimeter fencing is considered the boundary of the golf course and should be treated as such. If the ball is inside the course at the base of the fence, then play as it lies or declare unplayable and take a one stroke penalty, drop and play. No FREE relief

Wager: 50% of cost of dinner per pax.

Losing team member subsidies 50% of his/her opponent's dinner.)

depends on if they classify the fence as OB markers.. if so, play as it lies. hope i am correct.

over fence should not be OB as the OB markers are only below the netting. anything before and after the netting is not OB, but there is a fence.

From my understanding if ball over the fence then is not OB but rather unplayable. also cannot be LOST BALL since i can clearly see my call on other side of the fence. 1 penalty stroke and nearest point of relief. (not point of entry)

If the ball is on this side of the fence but right at the bottom and cannot swing, i am inclined to think that this should be free relief, same as swing being blocked by lamp post or electrical boxes. therefore no penalty, nearest relief not close to pin.

am i right i saying the above?

above scenario actually happened to me (both scenarios) on MBGC last week
