Charity Game between Reddot and GR

There are a 2 respectable forums around and looks like its a good idea to arrange a friendly match in favor to the charity.

Sounds like the charity shield for premier league and probably this may lead to weekly matches between these 2 forums.

Purpose of this forum is to foster good relationship and contribution to the charity organisation.

Example:
Reddot Team A vs GR Team A
Reddot Team B vs GR Team B
Reddot Team C vs GR Team C
Reddot Ladies vs GR Ladies

Example of Rules and regulations

No handicapp will be taken into consideration, Format of play will be based on total strokes for 2 players of each team.

No pros are allowed to represent any forum.

Prizes:

Charity Trophy to be presented to the winning team. (To be used for the next charity game in 2012)
Each respectivel forum supporter can place a S$20, etc bet towards the match. Loser supporter team will be required to contribute the bets to the charity organisation.

Anyone think this is a good idea to kick start to the year of rabbit.

Any people here willing to commit as seems like RDG is interested.

I am the neutral person where I will not represent either forum.

RDG has already confirmed on their participation.
So guess this is off as well like the ryder game between Sin and Malaysia forum previously.

It's a gd idea although I am noted enough to represent GR.

Let s wait for all to be back after cny. We r also busy with Loi hei cup.

Suggest that the rest can just make up other flights n play for leisure but score not counted.

Sorry but I have more questions than answers.

Why is there a need for trophy? Who will keep the trophy? This is not a real tournament but rather a friendly golfing match up with random team members from forum. If we win(I am very confident of our members), I personally do not have space to house the trophy nor feel that I am the right person to do so as I certainly would not participate. I am sure even individual team members will feel so as well and would not keep the trophy for a year. Why not save the money for trophy and donate to charity instead?

Would there be organizer mark up? Organizing events normally would involve a lot of personal time and result in some cost. The organizers for GR charity events absorbed such cost in the past. If you intend to mark up, please state out front. We seriously do not want ppl to come in and start biz venture and let this set a precedence.

Which Charity are you donating to?

Are there any sponsors you have solicited? If so, please let us know in case of conflict of interest as there are people in this forum that work in the golf industry and are not pros and therefore eligible to play in the game. Our forum also benefits from our partners and many kind sponsors who contributed various prizes for our events and we need to be fair to them.

Why the rush as well? Take time for ppl to respond and prepare. Rushing it and pushing so hard makes ppl suspect there are hidden agendas behind it. We do have a charity game planned in June for our 2 year anniversary. That would give ample time for everyone to prepare as well.

Lastly, none of the moderators and volunteers had been informed. While we encourage members to organise their own events, we feel that it is only basic courtesy to at least let us know if you are trying to organise something using the forum's name. Could you please do that in the future?

Its just a suggestion. So if there is no willing party to get involve.
It shall be shelved again.
As mentioned, charity proceeding will be based on the forum preference.
Organiser if there is one shall not received any thing in kind or monetary terms.

it need not be charity game; we could do a inter GR-RDG league, much like the SGA inter-club league

Bro, if I am not mistaken lots of people challenge you in the league already (not sure whether you accepted them all or not)... Still not enough ah...
To me, this kind of challenge ah will never be friendly one... it only encourage anymosity between different forums, especially with such bragging rights....
