PostSubject: Some US equipment   Some US equipment I_icon_minitimeFri Jan 14, 2011 1:00 pm

Nothing much being released in the US till after the PGA Show later this month.

I managed to get my hands on these shafts after waiting for a few mth.

It is to try and achieve more spin with those CC Clubs.

So I bought 2 sets of CC wedges and put them in with these.

- Vokey CCs ( 58.04 / 52.08)
- Callaway Jaws CC ( 58,13 / 52,12) with special grinding from the fitter.

The step pattern and shaft thickness varies. Looks to be a real winner with the new CCs.

Will take them out to the range for a trial this Sat. A grass range again finally.

Also from Lamkin, a white putter grip. These looked like they will turn black after a round but I got 1 to try out anyway.

Took them out for a rd y'day.

1st impression:

Smooth. I know this an overused word but coming from dynamic gold which is not known for it, I was pleasantly surprised.

The launch is def lower than with stock S300 shafts. However, it's still higher than my KBS S on an 09 Vokey with the same loft. The effect of CC grooves really is pretty different if u put them side by side but if u r playing CCs, this is def the shaft u wanna consider.

2 choices - wedge n wedge+. The difference is the weight. However, it's not for 'choosing' as the fitter told me the wedge+ is for Approach or Gap wedges while the wedge is more for SW or LW. This is to balance out the weight.

Spin - this was tough. Being winter in FL, greens n fairways r pretty hardpacked n firm so the feel on the course now is very similar to playing in Aussie courses in dry summer heat. I can see my pitches still roll out but not as much as with stock S300s. Basic chip shots from fringes still have sufficient spin but u will still have to cater for slightly more roll than old groove wedges.

Overall, quite impressed. I will be inclined to try them out on a pre-CC wedge to see how it performs.
