| Played 9 holes (47 from the white tees) at the newest virtual golf place. The images are actual photographs much like World Golf Tour's online free golf game.
There is no virtual wind and the controls are very simple to operate. They have new Nike balls (real ones, not range balls), woods and irons for customers to use.
Also, golfers at SwingPerfection must calculate launch and landing targets rather than manipulate the control panel for aiming shots.
Ken Lee (one of the directors) would be interested in meeting some of the leaders (Sunny, Moon, Mloy, Wilkang, Ghoonk, Asahi, ChrisD, etc) to invite them to try out the place much like V-Golf did for some GR last year.
There are fve simulators and the place is spacious.
Cheers.
CK

| Do they offer discount for GR'ians and does it help to improve our game by playing the simulator? | |

| Ken Lee wants to meet the senior GR organisers as they in turn can arrange for willing GR peeps to join them--they only have five screens, so space will be limted I assume. V-Golf let the GR peep who attended the 'media preview' use three screens FOC, but charged for the F&B which was expeted. Mloy was whacking away alone at one screen when I arrived--later joined by ChrisD and about 12 others. At the least, GP should offer a substantial discount on the hourly rates for the GR review. They have fun games like breaking windows in a virtual building, hitting the virtual maintenance staff in the range-ball-pickup buggy, etc. I never seen those games on an indoor golf sim before--quite fun. Can hear the windows smashing as the glass breaks in the virtual building! I play virtual/sim golf more often now cos my budget dun allow paying full green fees unless sponsored games related to my work assigments. 18 holes in under 1.5 hours usually in air conditioned rooms. Yes it helps improve your golf cos you must make a full swing correctly to get the ball to land where you want just like a real golf course. Putting and hazard areas are still not so realistic at any sim golf place but better than just wacking range balls mindlessly. BTW I visit the driving range a few times a week for excercise mostly but I do try to aim at targets and improve my swing. Most of the sim golf places have pro/coaches to help those looking for more formal instruction. I shot 47 over nine holes on the SwingPerfect simulator (Nicklaus North Course?), and shot 96 over 18 holes at Seletar CC course last Friday (white tees both places). So except for a few computer-realted distractions, I seem to play fairly consistent in both golf situations. Cheers, CK

| Hi there GR'ians!
This is Ken Lee, the Director of Swing Perfection (SP) that CK mentioned in this forum thread. Thanks to CK for coming by, trying our simulator and introducing us to the GR community.
@jurongtiger: We would absolutely love to meet and invite the rest of the GR'ians! Nothing would be better than to meet with other golfing enthusiasts! As CK mentioned, we'll be getting in touch with the GR organizers to kick start some discussions and potentially offer a good deal for GR peeps to grow your love for the outdoor game... indoors!
You can see our usual rates from our website @ www.swingperfection.com.sg.
Aside from playing golf like on a real course, golfers can also improve their game by reviewing handy shot data on every shot, using the club comparison mode to know their own clubs better or get onto our swing analyzer to review a video of your last swing in slow motion, frame by frame, compare against a pro's swing, etc.
Feel free to get in touch with me at ken.lee@swingperfection.com.sg if you have more questions or simply swing by to have a go at our system!

| b.b. carabanesis--no just some minor visual objects on the screen needed to be re-set--happen whenever U use computers and data intensive graphics. Remember the minor glitches when playing V-Golf? And ChrisD--ken told me he is certain his technology will read your super-fast swing. Sunny & Moon (or whoever is in charge now), contact Ken as he is keen and sincere about arranging for GRians to come and try out his sims. If a date is set, post it and I will try to make it also. If I remember correctly, Mloy and Ghoonk kicked my butt at V-Golf. Time for revenge--maybe. | |

| @hoppie (Edwin): That's great! We have a lunch promotion that gives you one hour of golf, a main meal and a soft drink for $24++. You should pop by during that time to get a good deal! Tonight, we're hosting an event for 40 pax, so if you come down during that time, I would still find time to host you. @zhenxua & asahi: I can't say much about offering discounts on the golf bays yet but I can do one thing for GR'ians for now. When you come down, just say 'I'm a Swing Perfectionist!' and I'll offer you 1-for-1 drinks for that night! By the way, we do have Asahi... | |

| @Duval: Wow, sharp eyes. I've been following this posting and I didn't even notice! Anyway, yes, it's Killiney Road and yes, the one near Singtel Comcentre. We're directly opposite Angelo's restaurant.
If you're driving, you can park in Singtel Comcentre, Orchard Grand Court Hotel or if you can get a lot, the parallel parking along Killiney Road.
Cheers! | |

| FR for Swing Perfection Ok just had a 1hr session during my lunch time with my 2 other colleagues, first time trying swing perfection system, took just a few shots to get use to it. It's quite different from other V.Golf, the bay is much more spacious and the good thing i like is the Tee height can be adjusted manually which is good, Maxswing Tee seems abit low to my liking. overall the ball flight/distance seems quite accurate. I like the putting which seems more accurate than other Virtual Golf system out there. And there is no lag between shot and ball flight in the screen. The best part i like about SP system is i am able to view every single shot details i took, i can see the impact, swing speed, ball speed, smash, launch angle, off centre angle etc, the small monitor can show that data without affecting the main projector screen which is really useful. You do not have to select shot type, in MS, you need to select shot type like chip/pitch, full or Putt. Which i feels i really smart and troublefree, many times in MS we do the wrong shot and need to retry. The sound system is really good too, can hear the tress, birds quite clearly, not sure how many speakers are there but the sound systems is quite real. I think the only con is i have to pick the ball up, if you just roll the ball back to address position, the system will take it as you took a shot, abit sensitive, a few times i drop the ball and the computer actually took it as a shot. Another con i notice is if you use a wedge and the shot is very high and do not hit the screen, it does not register the shot, ken advise me to place the ball nearer to the screen so it can register. Thumbs up for Ken who is kind enough to let us finish 9holes even our time is up, thanks alot! Damage: $42 with GST for 1hr, 3 person lunch and drinks. $24 + $6 + $6 + $6 + GST (This is the promo price) RTF, (I mean RTP): YES!!! | |

| @hoppie: Thanks for the objective review of our place and for the constructive feedback! We're glad you enjoyed yourself on the simulator and we're definitely keen to hear feedback so that we can talk to our system developers about making improvements.
@Duval, You can come in any attire but of course, proper golf attire is always encouraged. Office wear is perfectly fine.
