Never used it before... But was tempted to use something similar...

Actually masking tape can do the same job and it only costs about S$1.50 a roll. If you change a piece after 5 hits, I think a roll can last very long...

Another alternative is baby powder or chalk on the clubface.

Or if you clean your clubs well after each game, you can actually see the ballmark after every hit.

hmmm.....the masking tape idea is very interesting.......

when using masking tape, make sure you dun press it too hard... its easier to leave a mark if the masking tape is just on the clubface and not pressed down till you can see the grooves

along the same lines, you can use black electrical tape on the sole of your clubs to check your lie angle.
a trick i learnt from big fish..... hehe....

paste the black tape on the bottom of your club..

take a hit.

see the scratch mark on the black tape to see which part of your club (toe, sole or nicely angled) is in contact with mat.

spot on nrafee!!!

viola.... the abrasion marks will show where the sole of the club is contacting the ground and whether the club is too upright/flat/just nice for you.

cheap and effective way to check your lie angles.....
