| I have had the ZIM out for 2 consecutive rounds now. Did 30 putts today which is pretty ok. The ZIM is really, very easy to line up for putts. I am more confident now over the shorter ones which I feel that if I miss them, its probably due to the line-reading rather than the stroke and aim. So I was chilling out at the Den today and voila! Capt mentioned that some wonder fairy (FEDEX/UPS guy) came with some white boxes today. So being the nosy bugger I am, I had a look. Not sure if it was a mistake but as usual, I quickly ran out and proceeded to grab some Avocado shakes plus some juicy Char Siew with secret sauce to offer the Boss...AGAIN! So here it is, its called the ZZ1-C. I haven't used a Mallet putter in probably 4-5 years and even though the stats the past couple of days were decent, I was hoping ZEN would produce something in-between a ZAC and a ZIM as I was still more comfortable with a skinnier head at address. I think my fairy godmother heard my wish and this is the hybrid of the 2. Weighing in at 365g this time. It is about 5g heavier than my ZAP. The slight heft is attributed to the angular futuristic looking bumpers not seen before in any other putter design. This time round, the design of the hosel has been improved so the shaft sits very very flush to minimise distractions upon lining up. The 'secret' and patent of the cavity sole is also found in this model. Its the ZIM on a diet. When lining up on the green, it almost resembles a ZAC but someone in the know will give it a 2nd look to spot the differences. This is a very pretty piece. It performs almost like a mallet. I say almost cos since now that it is similar to a ZAC, the MOI will definitely be less than the ZIM. Off-centre hits can still be felt and heard as the sound of hitting the sweet spot is very distinct. Will not have a game till the Charity round and I suspect that it will be the day I take it out for a joyride against Mloy. Further reviews after that game. | |

| Wah,
That really depends on the type of food you are prepared to offer to Boss.
I think his standard is getting higher. Last heard he was thinking of double-boiled sea cucumber with hasma, wolfberries and red dates soup...plus a Kay Lee Roast Duck.
Jokes aside. I think I was just lucky to be at the right place at the right time and Boss gave me some face since it was my b'day y'day so he relented and did 1 for me. Otherwise these very very limited samples were all prototypes which were due to be shipped out to respective test audiences (tour) and markets.
I think DGman can give u a more accurate answer on when the retail version will be available.

| well to tell you the truth...
the ZZiC has a bit of history.
about 2 years ago i was at the factory when the first prototype was presented to us. put in a shaft and did not like it a single bit. tried putting with it...wow!
this prototype has always been coming along but was never in the limelight.
i think we must have produced like 20 pcs of the 3rd prototype and that was a year ago. During that round of testing, only golf professionals and Captain had seen and tested them.
the list of testers include Mardan M, Coach Tendy, Captain, Shorthitter, Justin Klahan, Udorn and many European players organised by Nick Middleton.
I can safely say that this model may NOT be produced commercially in the near future. Not because its not good enough, but Nick has the vision to produce an even better version. it will be codename "Whale".
What Rex has here is the 4th prototype and the radius on the flange are milled to 2mm to amplify the shadows at address. This hybrid blade putter is very easy to align and the deep and wide CAVITY (with a new patent) at the sole is a VERY functional component of this unique but highly performance driven putter. Captain played with one for over 2 months and his input was very important to help us shape the fine detailing that went into this baby.
The milling on the hosel is also very special as it is very difficult to flush the hosel and the shaft in a 100% milling process. The putter is milled from a SS 303 block in its entirety including the hosel.
when one hits the sweet spot, the feedback is just incredible. with off center hits, the ball do not lose too much distance and accuracy. such is the magic of the RDE.
i am also just gotten request from European Tour players for prototypes and this would be really interesting if someone wins with this and its not even available commercially.
this putter was also submitted for GD hotlist sometime back. i hope it would be featured.

| Dear Golfers, Let's hope the ZZIC will be in productions for all to have a go at it, personally the ZZIC have all the attributes of Performance, Feel, Looks and its a piece of art with all the future technology incorporated into it ! One more function which I found out was the bottom design(cavity) does in fact assist a smoother take away(back stroke) around the edge of green and first cut, as it reduce drag thus not being caught by the longer grass !
DGman make it happen for the golfer out there ! Sinking a couple more putts does help !

I will go down tmr (start of leave) to do 100% search of the premises for any leftover prototype.

| I was practicing my putts on my mat the whole morning.
I must say that it performs closer to a blade than a mallet.
I am also experimenting w a new grip over the Ping ones i normally use - The black Gripmaster Zen edition.
The flaws of ur stroke will be slightly more pronounced but u can have it both ways by minimizing it using this but also feel wat kinda stroke u had put on to roll the ball.
May I add that I told the Master that I had only an hr before I had to fetch the wife but he produced it, lie + loft + length furnished with grip all under 45min. Truly the maestro.

| HI All, I am one of those lucky ones to get my hands on the ZZIC. I must add that I am not a good golfer and avg putt per round is about 39! However, I noticed a difference to my putting stats after I paid a visit to DGman and got a ZZIC.
I am skeptical before the trip to Bukit Merah; how different can a putter be for someone like me? I met Eric, tried my hands on the Zens available, and the ZZIC was a runaway winner. There IS a difference - difference in TECHNOLOGY. It gave me a good feedback and confidence. I took home my beloved putter + FREE putting tips from DGman and Asahi.
I went to the course today with ZZIC, and applied their tips. I did 33 putts! Nothing to shout about for most GRians, but it is a big leap for me. ZZIC did make a world of difference and of course the tips from Eric and Asahi played a part too. I hope to continue improving and break 30 if possible. Zen really rocks!
