Muarchee,
86 is not a bad score. I did 88 in Serapong in March OCBC golf Series and was champion.
Looking at your score,I think it's quite decent golf.
To win Stableford, need to play pars or bogeys n 1 -2 birdies which means consistency and not double pars-par-bogey-triple.
Well done, keep it up.

Finally managed to do something yesterday… I walked through 18 holes with a full bag. Well, it is not my usual full bag, but it still had most of the stuff in it.
When I started, in the bag was…
a) 14 clubs. b) 8 balls c) my tupperware of tees d) my trusty 600ml SIGG water bottle.
Might as well do an update of my WIMB.
D: TM R9 SuperTri 9.5° / Kajiki Prototype 70S W: TM R9 13° / Graman M75 S H: Cleveland Launcher 2i 18.0° / True Temper Crossfire H: Callaway Diablo Edge 4 24° / True Temper Crossfire I: 5 to P Mizuno MP68 / KBS Tour AW: TM 52°, 8° bounce / KBS Tour SW: TM 56°, 12° bounce / FST Hi-Rev LW: TM 60°, 7° bounce / FST Hi-Rev P: 35" Zen Oracle Tour Mallet SS B: Any ball with 2 Green dots
What I took out from the bag was…
a) Extra Shaft b) Impact Stick c) Bushnell d) Umbrella.
After only walking throughout the first 2 holes at Keppel, my shirt was already soaked through and my flight mates thought I peed when they saw my 'wet' bermudas. I teed off at 6.50am and got back to the clubhouse at 11.00am.
The weariness 'kicked' it for me from tee box of the 17th hole . I did not managed to make good contacts for my approach shots for both 17 and 18 and had to make do with double-bogeys at the end of the day.
For those who are interested, I finished with 4 balls in my bag.

just an update to this thread as it has been quiet for quite some time already.... well it is quiet for various reasons...
This is only a hobby. I made some recent progression in my career recently and I have been busy, juggling many things. Perhaps not something that I am qualified to preach on, but I want to share something I learnt recently. A good manager works 30% and manages 70%. I honestly still suck at managing as I do not know how to delegate. I like to pick things up and do it myself most of the time. A flaw in me that I need to work it out.
Due to work, I have also been spending some time away from the family now. Its hard and it honestly sucks for me. I just took my family on a vacation recently. It is not perfect but at least it was time away from the busy city life. My daughter is going to school next year and my son will be in pre-school. I did the Primary 1 Balloting thing few weeks back and boy was that stressful! Again, another story for me to share in meet-ups. Definitely not here. They are getting bigger and would need more attention now. Sometimes when I just think about the responsibilities, it just amazes and more of stunning me. All the two littles one have is my wife and me. We are their world. They are only relying on us now and we cannot afford to disappoint them.
This is also a critical period of time when they start remembering. Would like them to have as much of a childhood that my wife and I had. Although, in these days, cycling, fish-catching in drains, hide-and-seek in HDB void decks are not as popular as before.
With all these going on in my life right now, I sort of lost abit focus on my golf. I wasn't thinking of golf as much. I wasn't doing air practices and I wasn't thinking about my next game. All I could do was to think how to spend my next weekend with the family and how to manage better in my career.
The Vow. Maybe some of you have already caught this by now. I made a 1 year vow not to change equipment to see if it has any effect on my game. I am trying to lower my scores now and the concept here is to stick with familiar equipment so that I would remain in the 'comfort zone' and continue to play better. May 7, 2010 is the day when I first game with my current set.
D: TM R9 SuperTri 9.5° / Diamana 'ilima 70 S / Prototype Kajiki 70 S W: TM R9 13° / Graman M75 S H: Cleveland Launcher 2i 18.0° / True Temper Crossfire H: Callaway Diablo Edge 4 24° / True Temper Crossfire I: 5 to P Mizuno MP68 / KBS Tour AW: TM 52°, 8° bounce / KBS Tour SW: TM 56°, 12° bounce / FST Hi-Rev LW: TM 60°, 7° bounce / FST Hi-Rev P: 35" Zen Oracle Tour Mallet SS B: Callaway Balls.
I am trying very hard not to change anything but it is very hard. Evils and Temptations are out there; FT Tour, Krank, Diamana Ahina. Argh. I had a tempting offer of FT Tour with PX Graphite shaft yesterday. But I shall resist and stay true to my vows.
Recent Skirmishes These days, I have the best game line-ups ever in my golfing 'career'. Last Saturday, I have a game with jimmychoo, chinchiachun and my Idol, S70B. It was a fun game and I was actually playing not too bad that day despite a 2 week time-out from golf. Just yesterday, I had a good time with Master, shamusan and Ms. Lee. That was one of the most fun games ever for me. I played like crap. I wasn't hitting drives well, wasn't scoring as much and not able to keep the pressure up. We walked the full 18 with GG. It was a very good experience. The weather would have been perfect without the haze. I had good putts though and managed to score one of the few birdies of the day. Another exciting line up for me this weekend will be Agumon aka Barracat Koh, seebayho and Idol. We will be playing in Keppel. I will be twitting if there is any exciting match format that we are going to engage in and if I have time. Its hard to tweet and play golf at the same time.
Getting Back into it? I am still intent on focusing on my career and family as Golf is still only a hobby for me. I am young and I have a longs way to go. I know my priorities and I know what I should do and what I should not.
As much as it is only a hobby, I am actually also equally as intent on fixing my problems. Ball Striking is first priority as it is the irons that get you near the pin, not the driver. Unless you are shamusan, just go for the green. This I need some help setting my swing back and even more commitment to go the range to ingrain in it thereafter. Something else I need to work on is power control. I need to learn how to swing at 80%. 80% all the time.
Something that I was to share that I have learnt in my recent outings. As much as things should be kept simple, there is still a need to at least know the theory of the different kind of shots; punch and pitch. These are to put you back in the game for at least a bogey when you are in trouble. It is important you know how your various clubs will react in the different shot. Have you tried punching or doing a chip with your hybrid or fairway wood? You will be surprised how easy and far you can get just by chipping with your hybrid. This is good when you are stuck in the forest with no way out of the trees with a normal shot. One of the most important things a golfer can have is trust. Trust your swing. Trust your shot. Trust yourself. Know that you can carry 140 metres with that 7 iron. Man up, walk to the ball and take that 140 metres 7 iron shot over the water hazard in front of the green. No need to lay up 50 metres and then use a PW to approach. Where is the fun in that?

MC...you should ask your idol to give you some private lessons since you have a financial crunch...
in golf its better to have a crap game and have fun, then a good game and feel like a crap afterwards. but yesterday was a fun day...we managed to twist Ms Lee mind into allowing us to win the last 4 holes and all 3 of us have a hand in that.
