Tiger's swing Empty
PostSubject: Tiger's swing   Tiger's swing I_icon_minitimeWed Aug 19, 2009 9:21 am

Here's a LINK to an interesting article I just read off the web on TW "new" swing. I thought it's an interesting read/analysis and would just like to share it with the GR ppl here.

I shall refrain from making any comments since my last post about swings/planes/drawing lines upset many ppl. Very Happy

This is also a good video which analyzes Tiger's swing in 2008, as compared with 2001. I would expect that the 2008 swing was pre-op. Anyway, just see how he's transformed himself over the years and then observe how he plays today.

Interesting to look at TW's stats from 2000 to 2009

As per the article, he has not given up any distance
2000 - 298 yds vs 2009 298.7 yds

He has lost accuracy since 2000
2000 - 71.2% vs 2009 62.27% of fairways hits

Greens in Reg also decreased
2000 - 75.2% vs 2009 - 68.48%

Putting has remained the same
2000 - 28.76 vs 2009 - 28.59 putts per round

Victories in 2000 - 9 vs 2009 - 5. This year not over yet and I expect he will win more before end of year.

The most important stat is the number of majors

2000 - 3 vs 2009 - 0

So judging by the stats, Hank vs Butch. I would say Butch is clearly leading the way.

I wondered why he changed coaches in the first place. I am sure Butch did as well. Time will tell if it was a good decision.
