If Tiger can overcome with surgery, so can anyone else Smile

Golf is a great game if you want to take it slowly. No need to rush. Play at your own pace (so long as the marshals don't come after you) Smile

ever consult my doc... he tells me unless i m a pro athlete, if not no point go for operations cost it does not 100 % guarantee back to normal...

My wife also had a similar issue with her knee. It's a torn meniscus which can be operated upon but not vital if you're not a serious athlete. Just regular exercise to help build the muscle around the knee is effective.

I believe ur left knee cap is pulled outwards, meaning towards the left. If that is the case, it is very common.

What u can do is to stretch the ITband and strengthen the VMO. which basically means stretch the outside of and knee and strengthen the inside of the knee.

Good that you are doing all the exercises for your back, remember to stretch your back as well. Alot of strengthening will cause the muscles to tighten and will give you other problems.... everything have to be balance....

I think I'm talking too much, guess you already know all these... Razz

Ironically, I find that practicing more (but not excessive) actually helps to strengthen the body more and also get the body acustomised to the motion/movements required to play golf.

You still can play 2 games a week??!!!??!!! I still remember for the first 2 weeks of my lessons, it takes me 3hours to finish 100 balls and my body "lembeh" already

Given the physical strength and the level of playing ability, it is difficult to increase the club head speed. Nonetheless, I would like to suggest that golfers could target to peak their clubhead speed at the impact thus deliver more force to the ball.

To do that you need to pay attention to the finish position of your club. ie. backswing, downswing, follow-through then the finish (swing the club head well pass you back). it is like a 100 meters dash, you need to run through (say at least 20 meters beyond the 100 meter mark). Hope it will help.

Or you can try it this way. Think Bruce Lee - 4 inch punch. No follow thru

HI Weesern & Techno

I don't suffer from slip disc, I basically have a weak lower spine cord due to one of the veterbrates having a "crack" in it. Doctors cant figure out if it is a birth defect or accident. I also have a weak left knee due to bowling for many many years.

There is no sugery to correct the spinal cord problem. The only way to reduce the problem is to strengthen the muscles around my tummy (more like beer belly) and lower back. Crying or Very sad

I am religiously working on it so that I can play golf.

Bro, you tried different doctors? If yes, can recommend any good surgeon/specialist for spine (not me, my fren's dad)?

eeerrrmmm....I was recommended to this Orthopedic called Dr Khor in NUH many years ago, I am not sure if he is actively practicing medicine now. he should be in his late 50's or even 60's now. The reason I was intro to him is because I have family working in the medical sector and they basically know where the "better" Docs are.

If you can wait a couple of days, let me try to find some info for you. Will pm you if anything

No worries, if can help will help.

As for Follow through, am trying it. When I go for my lessons again, ask instructor to check if see doing it correctly anot. short / mid irons more or less stable already, now trying to squeeze hat extra yardage out of it.

as for FW, 5 wood getting there, 3 wood completely CMI.

Won't even mentioned Driver..... White Flag

There are two pointers (follow-through and finish) and you have to do both in sequence. So you could not just think follow-through alone. "follow-thorugh and immediately with finish"

Just like dash well past the 100 meters mark as I mentioned earlier.

Hope it help!

My swing using 6 iron. The shorter I swing it and less I follow thru, more club head speed I can generate as my lag increases and I compress it better

This is a good drill to increase speed.

Yep. Longer swing have minimal leverage and look scoopy at impact. If you have a long follow through that hits you on the bum on the way through, you are most likely pretty week with the wrists through impact. Try the drill and you will see your impact improve. I will post some examples to show shortly

When you play a normal shot, there is definitely some extend of follow-through after the impact (can you stop the club right at the impact ??????).

My suggestion is that golfers who like to peak their speed at impact shall follow-through and finish. Go to the range and try it out (follow through and finish or less follow through).

Hope it help

quite true in shortening a swing will increase speed, it feels like we can coiled better...

but few things i feel,

1) there's a limit on how short...cant possible do a putter swing rite? lolz
2) yes agree more coiled in shorter swing but oso feel more abrupt... sometimes not so consisten...

well tht's i feel......

anyway, i m trying to swing as natural as my body can take it... not too much or too little.... Smile still trying to figure out..
