| Edge is straight and launches high (quite high) for the US spec habanero shaft. For Jap spec Edge, the R was too whippy and inconsistent direction. But I like the original Diablo better, both US and Jap specs had good trajectories for me, plus "durian" already dropped (if you still can find any new ones around). Fwiw, I use R7460 Jap spec SR, one kaki uses Ping rapture jap spec, one kaki uses the old diablo jap spec another the ZL jap spec, and the diablo is most reliable of the 4 when I hit them side by side, always go where you aim, only shorter than Ping rapture. ZL is always straight but not long (so sian recent Barclays last round to see Poulter outdriven by korean Kang KN and Adam Scott by 20 meteres whenever all 3 use drivers, very demoralizing for poulter fans too!).

| from what i know, the club head technology of the diablo vs the diablo edge is very different. diablo edge utilizes forged composite in the club head as compared to traditional titanium in the diablo | |

| i bought the callaway diablo octane black on new year's day 2011. 10.5 deg loft, regular flex project x 5.0 shaft, and golf pride grips. haven't taken it out to course yet but have tried it on range.
i really enjoy using this driver. it is quite easy to use and i could get consistently good distance on it. it makes a solid sound on contact.
i was previously using a taylormade r7 xR special edition which i got from a friend. comparing the two, i would say the diablo octane black is easier to hit, and has a better feel to it.
now to work on my swing.... | |
