As it was a very social game, i decided to try how it felt like to be putting left handed.

took out a left handed putter and used it for front 9, then use a right handed putter for the second 9.

amazingly i felt better distance control for the left handed putter and lip out a few in the 8-10 footer range, other than that it felt pretty natural except i have to constantly remember to stand on the other side. Made one 3 putts on very fast green conditions so thats not too bad.

However at one point in the game i had a visual issue with the driver and irons and it was sort of confusing to determine the impetus of the swing. after reverting to a slightly different routine, that fixed the problem.

when i switched back to the right handed, the confidence level seems to be inflated and the putting stroke and rhythm was right on.

if you asked me if i can play a round with a left hand putter, the answer is yes and i do not think there is any major difference except in the shorter putts.

the moral of this - i recommend it for right handed golfers who have putting problems to try this. it will completely change your MOI and stroke visual and may help you develop better stroking motion. also using a natural right handed grip will meant that you will get a right land low effect for left hand putting.

it will also help to heighten your senses and overall your judgement of distance and confidence will also improve.

the left hand putter i used was an Odyssey Half Mallet.

Hmmm.....seems to be an long & tough journey to go thru; putting left sided for a right handed guy.

My personal experience with this practice is tendency to lag in putting distance and not able to get distance control right. But that can be due to lack of time and perseverance in trying out.

Better solution, methinks is to get the ZenI for training, followed up by using Zen putter. Laughing
