what is Pull and hook and diff between the 2?

Reading the various comments as I am trying to improve my theory aspect of my game, I realized that I am really lacking.


So wha tis pull shot ? is it banana to the right?

What is hook shot? is it also banana to the right?

Pull means ball launches towards the left, but ball flight is straight

Hook means ball curves to the left, but could launch towards the right. You can hook the ball and still land it straight ahead if you launch it towards 2 oclock of target line

Pull = ball fly straight to the left AKA teochew ball.
Hook = ball banana to the left.

Imagine a boxer's right hook movement to simulate a hook in golf shot.

The right fist going out to the right then coming back in towards the left to land the blow.

pull mean your path is from outside to inside but the clubface is square at impact and going straight left .

hook is that your path is straight but your closing way too much the club face at impact

Now...I can read the tips and actually understand...instead of pretending all this while

Pull is the opposite of Push,
Draw is the opposite of Fade,
Hook is the opposite of Slice.
