shocking discovery...when mothers sent kids to school

for the past 4 weeks, I been sending my kid to school and then later walk to the nearby for coffee. One thing that I realized, there are groups of mothers who at the kopi place will gather and start to 'scheme' or share what sort of homeworks one should further give to their sons.

Wah piang...SCARY!!!!.....as if the school homework not enough, the tution not enough....now 'the united we stand' by the mothers......

Shiver!!!!!

I pity the kids... as much as schooling is important, they learn from playing as well...

That's the KSKS (Kaisi Kaisu) attitude... at the end, children will forget wat's like to be children.

There's no necessity to get caught in such a rat-race, just THINK DIFFERENTLY (not sure whether tt can apply in paper-chasing Spore)

Not a mum but have a nephew whom I watched grow up.

If you do nothing about it, your kid might be left behind.

I think there needs to be a balance.

But then again, each of us have different definition as to what is enough.

If only the government and employers starts to put advert like.
Experience in lieu of qualification is acceptable and make it a culture.
The paper chase will not end!!!!!!
Actually, from what I know. Most employer does not really look at the paper qualification.
They are more keen in your experience but yet they put that criteria! HR why?
No wonder Bill Gates, Michael Dell, Lee Kah Shin..... cannot get a job!

No leh, in my co. .... they look at paper qualifications. No degree, you are a non-exec.
Then of course, there is a limit as to how high your salary can go le lorrr....

well in fact, i think paper qualification is just a beginning, ultimately is the work performance, work attitude that brings you move you to a higher level....till when you start to feel that being an employee do not bring you to anywhere, then it's time to do some brainwork and maybe start out own business...keke

She is charge of Education and Finance.
I am in charge of Sports and Entertainment.

I have the harder job ...ha ha

However, I do notice that in the top classes the number (percentage) of mothers (or at least one parent) not working is high compare to the 'middle' classes.

She is Minister of Home Affairs. She takes care of things inside the house.
I am Minister of Trade and Commerce. I bring home the bacon.
She is Minister of Community Development, Youth and Sports. She takes care of the kids.

It's good to check on the forum at times. But just avoid giving unnecessary pressure to the kids.
