| Just finished a round at OCC and the rough is insane...leftover from the Hana Classic...miraculously our flight didn't lose any balls but search parties were required at various times....if you threw your irons in the rough, you would have trouble finding it....plus the fairways were fast meaning only the straightest of shots would stay in the fairway, otherwise they would run into the first cut of rough..
the only good thing was that topped shots were stopped before they ran into bunkers....

| I would think the greens are slightly better than before. they are quite inconsistent. but a bit slow. but faster than before by a tiny bit.
i've lost plenty of balls in the rough there too.. right next to the green, even on a drive that you think its there but when you go there its gone..
they just need to cut the rough now.. its not fun losing balls like that. and i hope they keep the greens fast and not let it get patchy and slow like before.

| The Earth course at Jumeirah Golf Estates is like that these days, as they are preparing for the Race to Dubai Dubai World Championship. Spent the day salvaging shots where the grass was taller than the ball, have to really course manage, premium on accuracy. Not fun when I'm in the middle of a swing change | |

| OCC rough will need to punch. Most of the pros were doing that during the handa. | |

in heavy rough, i gave up punching. Now using a pw to get back onto fairway and try to salvage par/bogey with a good approach and 1/2-putt
