| Just to give 2 cents.. about why its good to watch professionals play the course you have played before and familiar with ... Previously I watch the pros at Serapong (Singapore Open).. but as I have not played there, I have little experience to relate to the shots I saw.. today watching the pros play holes that I have played before, both well and terrible.. I've been to just about all around the fairways and putting green when my ball goes wild... and then today watching the pro's ball end up in trouble places where I too have ended up many times.. it was rather amusing.. but what followed next seperates the MEN from the boys... I have the chance to see them make recovery shots that are the stuff that wet dreams are made of! And one hole, which I can never get on the green with a 3 wood from just before the water.. Dendro 6.. this caucasian pro took out an iron and let fly all the way right next to the flag!!! OMG! Well it rained later at about 11am so I decided to call it a day.. Its just too bad that the ropes at OCC for keeping the spectators are rather far from the tee box, fairway and greens.. I liked the Open at Serapong better as I got to stand next to Angel Cabarera when he played from the fairway!!.. Some of the Thai pros were rather friendly.. they'd wave or flash a smile after a difficult shot at anyone watching them.. or thank anyone who praised them for the good shot.. One observation is that for iron shots, the trajectory was really really high! higher than 30 meters.. more like 50 meters.. and this was for a par 3 180m hole! I don't know if I should give up golf or feel inspired.. they way the pros swing.. most of them keep it very compact and its doesn't even look fast and full of effort.. but I can see they were all sweltering from the stuffy air. ok lah.. write so long also dunno who want to read.. End of Post. | |

| the game will be very different for the leader tomorrow. for the first 2 days he hardly had any pressure, but tomorrow will be different pairing and the "match play" mentality sets in.
may the best man win.

Now, that is interesting. While the last game I attended was the first ever Indonesian Open, I didn't really pay that much attention to their trajectories. Nor was I really that serious playing this crazy game. I have been battling a high trajectory shots lately and I tried and spent (mostly on equipments) everything within my power to keep my ball down with little success. To know that the pros are actually shooting that high up in the air (assuming you did not exaggerate) makes me feel a little better. | |

| Yarra, ya i thought from what i read that we should keep the trajectory low.. but based on the drivers trajectory, i'd say its about the same height as i would hit, but much further than me. for the irons, i am surprised that it is really that high.. what bugs me is that they get height and distance!!.. i get one or the other! | |

| Mizzy, I am going to watch the open today at 1pm. wanna join me? Interesting observation from you about the part of gettting out of trouble. I think I will pay close attention to it when I am there. As for iron, can you have seen many times, mine is like yours, high and not far or low and very far away from the target.. | |

| i walk with a good friend from CNX yesterday who was playing at the Handa...
you can't miss him cos he is wearing the loudest pants.
not a bad day for Udorn....he shot another 5 under and is currently at 10 under. the guy is not big but he hits his drives long and in the middle of the fairway. he is the guy who shot 10 under on day 2 of the thailand open 2 weeks ago.
he had abut 6 lip out yesterday but thats becos he did not know that after heavy rain, the greens plays slower and truer. Too bad i cannot say anything till the end of the round.

| To be successful in tour, one needs to hit it high and long. This year at the Open, Tom Watson was the playing partner of Ryo Isikawa. When the former saw they way Ryo hit (long and very high trajectory), Watson told him, you have a great future on tour. For iron shot (approach), one needs to hit it high in order to achieve soft landing. | |

| I am very impressed with their tee shots.. the sweet sound on impact and all the time, sitting nice in the fairway.. | |
