| Do you win more with
#1 under-declaring your HCP?
or
#2 Playing to your full potential?
PS: not that I plan to win, but just something that tickle my shrinking brain

| Wow, revival of JT!
I dun believe in giving or getting too many strokes in a simple bet.
Thats why I lurve playing with ppl like Slinger where we square off evenly. Win or lose, you know its gonna be a good time.
Get too many - How shiok is it when you win?
Give too many - Whats the point of always playing catch up?
We should all learn to take less - Challenge for the taker to play better and the giver (obviously a better player) to not embarass himself by not winning.
Unless the influence of MBS or RWS has skewed ur level of betting, most golfers shouldn't be having >$100 exchange hands. If you play the game with the spirit like most do, the $$$ will still go to lunch or dinner after that so betting is a way of keeping things interesting and competitive.

| Normally the bet is for F&B consumed during and after the game. Being just a recreational golfer, I take on bets from anyone. Like mentioned by S70B, if the player feels good by taking advantage of my golfing ability, thats fine with me.
My view of betting is that it "forces" me to practice harder and improve myself.

Totally agree with you... even going to mbs, rws or singapore pools also no sure win... Some people just want to make sure they win

| It's not about how good u play golf, it's about how good u negotiate.
Now... Once u understand this theory, u will start winning more golf bets! :p
