Fake or real Rombax "F" series shaft?

Last week while playing with my friend, I was very surprise to see my friend playing a Rombax "F" shaft with PRINTED series number!!!

From my very limited knowledge, I remember that Rombax "X", "Z" series are with laser engraved series number on the shaft (Look like engraved with a sharp pen knife). How come this "F" series of my friend come with a printed series number? Can it be a fake shaft?

At first I thought my friend got the club from those China shop that sell fake but after I checked with my friend, I start to get very worry to find out that he fitted his shaft with a club fitter in Singapore

Wonder if any GRians with the "F" series shaft can clarify this? Is it a fake or maybe it's the real thing?

There are F series. Its hard to tell if its real or not unless you are an expert club fitter i.e. dgman. here. Anyway, here's the link.

JC, I wonder if your friend could bring his Rombax for verification by a local distributor? I often wonder if SG distributors would verify and deal with errant sellers should the parent company decides to take it on?

I play rombax too, engraved as i told you on the phone. My f already sold to 4dtoto so i cannot check but from memory, it is engraved. 4dtoto can confirm just in case i am old and have failed memory?

After my investigation and asking around, YES, the shaft is confirmed a fake one! Whateven that guy is trying to say, it's still a fake one and will not perform anything close to the original one.

Information from my source, one can get the same fake shaft at about RMB60~120 from China which is about S$15~25, will it perform close to the original shaft which cost S$300+ ?

Anyway, this so call club fitter has returned the money back to my friend so let's drop this case. Thanks everyone for the reply.

Chop and Confirm, the serial number is engrave on the shaft.

must be tat shit fitter from cg m kenna 1 before too , sold m fake NS pro iron shafts.

can find a fake Matrix Ozik shaft for $15-$25. BTW make no difference for me since i am using a cheap NV shaft, the 'fake' Ozik is probably better.

Saw a fake tour AD too. The font on the shaft is slightly fatter compare to the original one.

I've seen Rombax shafts that have the design not 'printed' on the shaft, but use sticker to paste.. can peel the whole design off. Well, you pay peanuts, you get monkeys..
