| Currently in e midst of fine tuning my iron set hope someone can help shed some light?
Is it more ideal to keep a constant sw across e set? But then again a 6iron with a sw of d2 will have a different moi from 5 iron of d2 mainly due to fact that it play shorter..
Can anyone help share some experience they have with their set..
Cheers

| Hmmm ... I don't know about the rest, but the swingweights on my clubs get progressively more the shorter the club .... | |

| Let's bring this up..
From what I read,....MOI matched is suitable for constant ball position and the need of identical swing release, while swing weight matching is more suitable for variable ball position.

| Don't pay too much attention on these technical aspects, let the clubfitter do what is best for you. For beginners and amatuers, just focus on hitting the ball. | |

| here's a simple chart on changes on club can lead to changes in swing weight
Head weight===> 2 grams===> -/+1 swing weight Length===> 1/2 inch ===>-/+3 swing weight Grip Weight ===> 5 grams ===> +/- 1 swing weight Shaft Weight ===> 9 grams ===> +/ -1* swing weight
* The shaft swingweight equivalent is for illustration purposes only. Unlike the other three factors, as shaft weight changes its effect on swingweight changes at a disporportionate rate. For estimation purposes, however, the above shaft weight-to-swingweight equivalent is acceptable. (meaning only applicable if base on the same shaft)

bro read the disclaimer for weight of shaft . best when change shaft put it on the scale to recheck swing weight well that's my 2 cents on swing weight in relation to club weight club weight = total weight swing weight = where u add or minus the weight (or the how much u cut or add length

| Would appreciate it if anyone can explain how swingweight or moi matching helped in your ballstriking? I mean can you tell the difference an unmatched or higher/lower swingweight or unmatched moi? How would you describe how swing weight feels? How to differentiate swing weight and total weight? What benefits have you felt when the swingweights are matched vs unmatched? Empirical feedback/based on wht u feel/experience, that would be great..for theory i can just google but i struggle to link theory with feel on my hands/ballstriking. Thanks! | |

Maybe leh, when everything you check is Align to what you want, you will have the mentaility/confident and tell yourself, everything is setup sui sui so i confirm can hit. Once you think can hit most of the time is can hit. But if you think shit wrong swing weight leh etc, etc. then you will think my swing weight wrong leh, dunno can hit anot. If think dunno can hit anot, most of the time sure screw up one. hehe......Golf is mental game mah, so everything must be sui sui then u got confident one

| I have never been fitted before until last mth. Dgman say I use hands.....so the traditional swing weight fitting does not suit me. So he use MOI fitting on me.....he says its quite complicated.
Frankly speaking, I dunno what he is talking abt. Like what Duffy says, just leave it to the club fitter.
So I leave it to Dgman to do what he wants with my irons. And what I did was to have confidence in what he does This is prob what Hoppie call mental.
From that day onwards, I dare not say I improve by leaps and bounds. But my iron play really really become much more solid and I begin to catch a few birds along the way.
Thanks once again Eric, confidence really helps
