Hi Guys....

I've been boggling over if its a good idea.

I'm currently playing with a Maxfli Revolution set, which came with Dynamic Gold S300 shafts.

My mid Irons to short irons are ok. In terms of distance. The gaps are pretty much there. However, when it comes to about 5 iron to 2 iron, it gets shorter and shorter. Off the tee i'm ok. But off the fairway, i'm in trouble.

E.g. my 7 iron goes about 150 to 155 m off the fairway. Therefore, the gapping would be approx:
6 iron ~ 160m
5 iron ~ 170 m
4 iron ~ 180 m
3 iron ~ 190 m
2 iron ~ 200 m

But now... I'm actually getting

5 iron ~ 165 m
4 iron ~ 170 m
3 iron ~ 170 to 175 m
2 iron ~ if lucky... actually... never try... lol

Therefore, my question is... if I'm thinking of changing my long irons to a stiff graphite... would it be crazy..?? Also because... my short irons, 8 to PW, i've changed it to X100 and i love it.

So... option 1: Change my 2 iron to 4 iron to graphite
5 iron to 7 iron leave as S300
8 iron to PW leave as X 100

or option 2: Change my 2 iron to 6 iron to graphite
7 iron to PW to X 100

Oh... forgot to mention... why i'm struggling to make a decision... my first graphite set... were stiff shafts... and I broke 3 of the original shafts and broke a re-shaft... hehehehe...

Any advice..?? Razz

then better dun change to graphite... if not you will break even more...

It sounds like you need someone to look at the swing for your long irons...

You should go and get fitted. There are a number of club fitters in this forum; I personally go to Big Fish.

Also, good graphite shafts shouldn't break that easily.

You can have two options...

either you changed your 2iron with a 2 hybrid.

And then changed your 3 & 4 iron shaft to either a lighter shaft...

say NS Pro 850 regular flex

or you can have your swing speed check and then choose which graphite shaft you should be using

Wah... bro... hand break ah... Razz

Kinda main reason why I'm thinking of changing to graphite shafts is to allow me for the "longer" clubs , namely 2 to 5 iron.. is to allow me to swing easier... and still achieve a good distance... I hope that the graphite shafts will give me slightly more distance than i am currently getting...
